White House urges Congress to approve quickly expedited F-16 sales to #Turkiye after signing off #Sweden #NATO bid President Joe Biden has taken steps to start the formal notification process for the possible sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, pending the completion of Sweden's NATO accession process by Ankara. Biden has urged Congress to immediately approve the deal. The White House has already announced its support for the proposed sale of 20 billion dollars of F-16 aircraft and modernization kits to Turkey. Turkey has expressed its interest in buying 40 new F-16 fighters and 80 upgrade kits for F-16 fighters in service in the country's air force.

NATO is launching its biggest military exercise since the end of the Cold War, with 90,000 troops from the U.S. and Europe rehearsing defensive strategies against Russia. More than 50 ships, 80 fighter jets, and 1,100 combat vehicles will also be involved. Russia was not directly named, but the Steadfast Defender exercise imagines conflict with a “near-peer” adversary on the alliance’s eastern flank. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has ended a long era in which NATO felt no need for large-scale defense plans, concentrating on wars overseas such as in Afghanistan. The Ukraine war itself is going nowhere, though: Kyiv plans a strategy of “active defense” in 2024, keeping Russia off balance with smaller counterattacks, and hit St. Petersburg with a domestic-made drone on Wednesday.

Hi Footage From the Refueling Aircraft on the Way to Strike Houthi Military Targets in Yemen The Israeli Air Force's refueling aircraft have been operating in all arenas in the war, providing fighter jets with flexibility in strikes and aerial operations at any distance. The Israeli Air Force has been active in multiple combat zones, with refueling aircraft ensuring operational flexibility for fighter jets, allowing them to strike at targets regardless of distance. Yesterday, several IAF fighter jets, supported by refueling aircraft, targeted military assets belonging to the Houthi regime. Key locations hit included power plants and a seaport in Ras Isa and Hudaydah. These sites were reportedly being used to import oil for the Houthis' military operations. ### Interesting of course is in whose airspace the IAF was allowed to fly.. The South Korean company Hyundai Rotem has showcased the capabilities of its K2 Black Panther main battle tank. The demonstration, conducted at the military training range near Galați, highlighted the mobility and firepower of the K2 Black Panther tank. According to local media reports, the Romanian Ministry of National Defence plans to acquire new main battle tanks for up to six battalions, totaling more than 300 tanks. Bucharest is seeking new vehicles to replace the aging TR-85 and T-55 tanks. Hyundai Rotem’s proposal includes the transfer of technology and collaboration with the local industry. This cooperation could involve the partial participation of the Romanian defence industry in the production, maintenance, and lifecycle service of the tanks. 🇦🇿👏 Azerbaijan has launched a significant upgrade of its aging military weapons and equipment to more effectively confront emerging threats. Local firm Sumgait Technologies Park collaborated with Czech Czechoslovak Group to modernize 23 Soviet-era Shilka anti-aircraft guns currently in service with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Presented at the ADEX 2024 defense expo, the upgraded weapon features a new radar station capable of simultaneously tracking up to 100 targets at a maximum distance of 20 kilometers.
