August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month (NMDAM) - a collaborative effort to promote a positive culture for organ, eye, and tissue donation. 60% of those on the national transplant waitlist list are from multicultural communities, many of whom struggle with health conditions largely influenced by years of systemic racism. This percentage is a significant overrepresentation of people of color, and demonstrates a notable health disparity. Did you know that when donors and recipients have similar racial/ethnic backgrounds, successful outcomes increase? It is so important we highlight these issues to encourage more people to register as donors, to thank those who have already done so, and to foster a culture that is unafraid to have transparent, brave conversations. We all have the power to save lives! Think of how many more we could save if we all signed up as donors. 🌍We believe that even the smallest kindness can power the world. At DAS SOLAR Australia, we believe that true sustainability goes beyond environmental protection; it extends to fostering the well-being and development of all humanity. As part of our ongoing commitment to this vision, we answered the call of Robert Dunne, Senior Business Development Manager of our trusted partner, Sol Distribution (a subsidiary of AGL), who will take part in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkinsz🚴 —a 200km challenge to raise funds for cancer research in #WesternAustralia. While Robert courageously pedals to make a difference, DAS SOLAR shows its solidarity by contributing to the cause through donations. This effort aligns perfectly with our #CSR ideals, which emphasise not only creating a greener planet but also nurturing a compassionate, supportive human culture. We believe that every small act of kindness, like our financial support, can contribute to the greater good of humanity, mirroring our mission to build a sustainable, healthier future for both people and the planet. Robert’s dedication reminds us that each step, or in this case, every pedal stroke, brings us closer to overcoming one of the world’s most challenging diseases. We are proud to stand alongside all those impacted by cancer🎗️, reinforcing that our GREEN focus extends beyond the environment and into the heart of our communities. By participating in this initiative, we aim to contribute to human development in every form. Join us in making a difference! 💪Every contribution counts, and together we can help make history. 👉If you would also like to donate to Robert, please use the link: https://lnkd.in/gtGNJ_xv. #Solar #PV #Cancer #Donation #DASGreen #DasSolar

There's strategy, which all reads well and sounds good but doesn't necessarily get actioned. Then there's Strategy, the way Shaun Clarke ONZM delivers it. Bringing it out of the brain, onto the page, off the page and into action and outcomes. What is the WHY for the type of strategy and planning you are devising and HOW does this exceed expectation?
Many of New Zealand's top leaders are back to work today and planning for the year ahead will be front of mind. Delivering exceptional results does not happen by accident - the very best leaders practice strategy assurance; where their teams constantly survey the external operating environment to ensure their strategy is the right one. Set your team up for success this year - we have a few remaining places for our 2-day ThinkBird Experience taking place in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland in February - facilitated by leading strategist Shaun Clarke ONZM. Contactus@thinkbird.co.nz for more information. 100% of all profits from the ThinkBird Experience are donated to the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute so they can continue their pioneering work in the field of cancer treatment. #planning #strategy #personaldevelopment #purpose #philanthropy #executivedevelopment #militarystrategy #medicalresearch #cancerresearch #cancerawareness #resilience #sustainablebusiness #assurance

Who's ready for a new #locinitiative? With #womensmonth in full swing, we're launching the "Local act, global impact", a campaign by LocInPink. What's it all about? The “local act, global impact” slogan was born from a candid conversation with LocInPink ambassador Richard Brooks, when he and Nertila were talking about their experience in leading seminars at the university and how great it felt to be able to give back to the places they graduated from. Inspired by that conversation, we're inviting you to do a local act of service during #WomensMonth, as a way to give back to your community. The local acts should be focused on #breastcancerawareness and breast health and can be anything from participating in local NGO events, to volunteering at the women's health office at a local hospital, to organizing a breast health seminar or a Pink Friday to raise money for a donation. It can also be something as simple as promoting a healthy lifestyle and regular checks in your smaller community, or educating yourself about breast cancer/health. How about learning how to offer emotional support to a person living with breast cancer? Or sharing your #personalstory to encourage and empower a breast cancer patient? We believe that by focusing on our local environment, these small acts will add up, slowly leading to change in an office, a neighborhood, a community and further. Each of us has a part to play in the well-being of the communities around us and the larger world that we share, and sometimes all it takes is a spark! So, if you're up for the challenge, share the story of your local act on social media using the #localactglobalimpact and #locinpink hashtags. Alone we can do so little, together so much! 🌐 Harnessing the Power of Conversation: Recent research reveals that discussing organ donation with your family can significantly impact consent rates. In 2008, the World's Biggest Walk and simple messaging propelled Australia's organ donation rates to 64% by 2018. However, a shift in strategy over the past 5 years has seen a decline to 53.9% in 2022, raising concerns about future trends. Let's continue to advocate for open conversations to positively influence organ donation consent.
