The Working While Black Expo (WWB Expo) serves as a catalyst for the transformation of workplaces and communities. It is a space where conversations are sparked, experiences shared, and strategies are developed to dismantle the barriers that have held Black workers back for far too long. This expo is more than just an event; it marks a turning point—a moment where we collectively declare that enough is enough, and change must happen. The fight for economic and racial justice is a long and arduous one, but the rewards are indisputable. Check out all of the events, sessions and activities here 👉🏾workingwhileblackexpo.org

You, your team, and your brand have worked countless hours to build high yield solutions for your clients. For years you’ve been at the forefront of a competitive market - and you’ve used the strides you’ve made to make bigger community impact. After curating world-class events, venues, and programs? After cultivating a highly effective team? What’s next? Simply put, recognition, more specifically, national recognition. You, your team, and your brand deserve to be recognized for reaching every milestone and C. Bethany PR is prepared to help you achieve recognition that will spotlight your success and reach new markets of clients. In this new season, I am dedicated to helping brands like yours to access growingly influential markets - i.e. Black entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on Black-women owned businesses. The U.S. Census reported that there were an estimated 140,918 Black- or African American-owned businesses with $141.1 billion in annual receipts, 1.3 million employees, and about $42.2 billion in annual payroll. I believe engaging with national and local audiences of Black entrepreneurs may increase visitor and tourism traffic, close gaps in profit growth, and encourage new alliances with national brands and international events.

As we celebrate Black History Month, and recognize the profound impact of Black leaders, pioneers and changemakers, it is crucial to shine a spotlight on the persistent health disparities affecting the Black community and put muscle behind efforts to bridge the gap. Access to quality healthcare should not be a privilege but an essential right, yet it remains a significant challenge for the community. 💰 Financial Barriers Persist: In accessing and utilizing healthcare despite strides made in recent years, due to lack of insurance or being underinsured 🔍 Knowledge Barriers Cause Delays: Knowing when to seek care, and understanding the importance of preventive care, routine screening and early detection of chronic conditions - and how to navigate the healthcare system 🩺Health Outcomes Remain Poor: Higher rates of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease, exponentially higher risks of maternal (3x) and infant mortality (2x) and cancer mortality To tackle these barriers preventing access to care, value-based care that levels the playing field from a financial and quality lens is a critical first step. Quality care should not be beyond the reach of a community that accounts for nearly 14% of our population. 📚Health literacy is crucial to build trust in a system Black people have historically mistrusted, before we can improve preventive care and routine screening compliance 🤝Community health workers can be key to improving health literacy, fostering trust and navigating a confusing healthcare system 🌐Culturally competent care informed by a deep understanding of racial and economic inequities and the long-standing mistrust of a system that often failed them 📊Transparent quality metrics about providers and procedures can go a long way towards reassuring marginalized communities hesitant to seek care This February, let's commit to reducing these disparities and improving Black health outcomes. #BlackHistoryMonth2024 #HealthEquity #EquityMatters #ValueBasedCare #HealthLiteracy

We are thrilled to unveil the new logo for the Black Association Executives (BAE), a symbol that boldly represents our accomplishments, our identity, and our evolution as a community. This logo is designed to keep us rooted in our mission while reflecting our growth and progress. The bold design features three lines that progressively extend in length, embodying our commitment to "Building the pipeline from education to practice." These lines symbolize the continuous journey and advancement of Black Association Executives within our community. The colors incorporated in the logo – black, red, yellow, and green – are rich with symbolism that aligns with BAE's mission and vision: ⚫️Black: Represents the strength, resilience, and unity of Black Association Executives, highlighting the foundation of our community. 🔴Red: Symbolizes the passion, dedication, and drive of our members in overcoming challenges and pushing for excellence in the association industry. 🟡Yellow: Represents the optimism, leadership, and innovative spirit that propel our members forward, striving for justice and equality in professional spaces. 🟢Green: Symbolizes growth, development, and the continuous support we provide to cultivate the talents and careers of Black professionals within the association sector. Together, these colors pay homage to the rich heritage and legacy of the Black diaspora, echoing the symbolism of the Pan-African flag. Where there is no struggle, there is no strength. “How was Cannes?” has been the most asked question in all my meetings across July. Cannes was heavy, for many reasons. I dislike the way the Black community are treated in society and across the industry. But I’m encouraged by the strength we continue to have in the face of apathy and push back. A part of me is tired, a part of me is encouraged. I successfully funded and facilitated the presence of 70 Black people at the festival out of 1,000 + who applied. Did many companies across the industry lean in? No, do any of them genuinely care? I’m not sure. I’d like to believe they do, but I only ever see them lean in when they’re supporting the 1 or hand full of Black people they think are palatable at any given time or when it involves taking from our culture and giving us nothing in return. “Nothing about us without us.” Whether people in the industry want us around or not, it is important we continue to show up, we continue to contribute and we continue to add value where we find the strength. Finding unity where possible, and laying a stronger foundation for the generations to come. Where there is no struggle, there is no strength. 🔬💉This month we are celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth here at the Silicon Valley Employers Forum and today we're looking at the crucial role black doctors have on the health and wellbeing of black patients. African Americans make up 13% of the U. S. population, yet they only represent 5% of physicians. This lack of diversity in the medical workforce has a direct impact on the health and well-being of black patients. 🌟 By bridging cultural gaps, black doctors create an environment where patients feel understood and valued. This promotes trust and encourages open communication—a recipe for personalized care that leads to better health outcomes for diverse populations! 💪🏾🩺 #CulturalCompetence ✊ Representation matters: As more black doctors enter the profession, communities gain role models who inspire future generations to pursue careers in medicine. 👨🏽⚕️💡#Inspire #Mentor 💡 Diversity fosters innovation: The unique perspectives and experiences of black physicians enhance medical research, help address disparities in care delivery, and contribute to ground breaking solutions that benefit every patient—from diagnosis to treatment plans. 🚀⚕️#InclusiveResearch The Black Physicians network published a report last year from research from Owen Garrick, CEO and President of Bridge Clinical Research, who wanted to know if a doctor's race made a difference in patients' health outcomes. He carried out a clinical study to determine if doctor's race mattered in successfully encouraging black patients to take advantage of preventive health care services, such as cholesterol and diabetes screenings. Key findings of the research: 👉Patients who met with black doctors asked for more preventive services than patients who met with non-black doctors. 👉Black doctors are more likely to work in primary care, where there is a greater need, than in specialized care. According to the Black Physicians Network, the total number of minority doctors, including black doctors, is increasing, although not as fast as it should. "The importance of having more black doctors cannot be overstated. Not only do they understand the lives and challenges of their patients as much as their clinical needs, but they also have the ability to give dignity to others, to give compassion in a time of vulnerability, to act ethically and to help those in need." Sales Leader @ Intuitive | Disruptive Capital & Disposable Sales, Business Development | Real Estate Investor | Public Speaker
#representationmatters 🖤🖤🖤 For some, at first glance, this is just a heartwarming #blackhistorymonth post from a big company attempting to do the right thing this month. When you dig deeper and listen to the stories from these #marketing and #salesleaders you realize its more than that. When you listen to the experiences of our #customers, the #surgeons, you understand the positive impact #representation has on the 🌎 around us, #business, #innovation and #employeeengagement. Intuitive could not produce this #content without a true #teameffort but I want to highlight the Black employees directly or indirectly involved as my next #blackhistorymonth post: Marissa Smith (Tirado) - Now a Sr. Product Manager, she is a relentless worker and #strategicthinker that impacts many areas of our business. ✨ Kevin Crawford - Kevin is a #successstory working his way from a #salesassociate to #managementdevelopment program to now #salesleader. 💪🏽 Candace Davis - This Sr. #bariatric #marketing #manager made a concerted effort to develop more black & brown KOLs. Two of them are highlighted here including Monique Hassan, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM & Dr. Folahan Ayoola. Jocelyne Fletcher & Kamilah Brewton - these two #women are drivers of our #urology business and Single Port platform adoption. They also hosted and moderated the global event where this video was premiered. Tiara E. Wright, MBA, CBA & her team are unsung heroes at the org. Without them, we cannot provide #patients access to the best technology in the world. #weareintuitive #blackexcellence #blackatintuitive #keepmovingforward #seatatthetable #makeadifference #impactmatters #meddevice #roboticsurgery
