The neurodiversity-affirming movement, emerging in the 1990s, challenges traditional views of neurodivergence as disorders requiring treatment, instead advocating for understanding and support that recognises these conditions as natural variations of human experience. This approach emphasises the strengths and lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals, particularly in the context of autism, and calls for inclusive practices in research, therapy, and social integration that respect preferences and identities. #actuallyautistic #autism #autistic #autismawareness #autismacceptance #autismspectrum #psychologist #psychology #alliedhealthprofessionals #teachers #psychiatry #InclusiveHealthcare #InclusiveSociety #BlogWednesday

This article is helpful but talks a lot about autism. I would like more information about the rest of the other neurodivergence mentioned in the first paragraph. Is there research in these areas?
