Check out what is happening in Bolderāja! 🙌 Bolderāja, a suburb of the Latvian capital, Rīga, is one of the Creative Circular Cities project laboratories where NDPC is a partner. The garden at the local library will soon be transformed based on residents' ideas, following the principles of the circular economy, and the idea competition “Mans kultūrdārzs Bolderājā" (My Cultural Garden in Bolderāja) has just kicked off! 🌿 Looking forward to seeing how this project unfolds 👏 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dzx8uF3x 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dpmVvGGz --- CCC is 80% funded by the EU’s Interreg Baltic Sea Region program with a total budget of approximately four million euros.
Citizen engagement is one of the pillars of the CCC project - without it, no major changes towards circularity are possible. This week, one of the project partners, the Riga Energy Agency, hosted an event in the remote Riga suburb of Bolderāja, where municipal representatives and architects met with the local community to discuss how to turn the library garden into an aesthetic, circular space with activities for different audiences. Until 25 November, Riga Energy Agency is holding a competition for citizens to come up with ideas on how best to use the spacious library garden. Photos - Riga
