Recently, Max Cyril, our Perth Acoustic Section Manager, joined a virtual panel discussion focusing on "Sound Solutions for Next-Generation Learning Spaces". Hosted by CPD Live, Max spoke alongside Rob Jones from Autex Acoustics Australia and Andrea Wilson from ARM Architecture. Max shared insights into the evolving role of acoustics in educational environments. He addressed both challenges and solutions to providing clear communication and overall acoustic comfort in modern learning spaces. A few key takeaways from Max’s session: • Embrace open layouts and flexible spaces to connect learning environments • Use acoustic zoning to manage noise transfer between open spaces • Integrate technology as a part of acoustic design considerations. “Modern educational spaces require a holistic approach to acoustics, where flexibility, technology and thoughtful design converge to create optimal learning environments. This ensures that students and educators can communicate effectively, regardless of the spatial configuration." – Max Cyril Congratulations, Max! Your insights highlighted how thoughtful acoustic design can truly transform learning environments.
