Share our passion for law and take a deep dive into a full-service business law firm by joining our summer internship programme. Running since 2017, our two-week internship is designed to introduce students to the main areas of our firm’s practice and receive support and guidance to accomplish educational tasks from our trainees, associates and partners, while they also receive mentoring that helps them make decisions about their future career.   💡 Τhe programme involves in-depth trainings, mentorship sessions and creative group tasks. Interns have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of our practice groups on a rotation basis, gaining exposure to high-quality work and forward legal thinking. 📅 Interested candidates, who have completed their second year of study and above, should apply by 15.5.2024. Aiming to support students from all over Greece, this year we will also select up to three eligible candidates from outside of Athens, and cover their accommodation and expenses for the two-week period. What's the No. 1 top-selling drug of 2023?   Last week Merck reported a whopping $25 billion sales haul for their PD-1 cancer superstar Keytruda, which appears to be the world’s top-selling drug in 2023. Keytruda took over the top spot from Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid19-vaccine Comirnaty, which ruled the previous two years, scoring sales of $55.9 billion in 2022 and $55.1 billion in 2021. For 2023, Pfizer reported $11.2 billion in global Comirnaty revenues; BioNTech has yet to reveal their results. Before the pandemic, it was AbbVie’s immunology mega blockbuster Humira that assumed the throne as top-selling drug for over a decade, after kicking down Pfizer’s cholesterol-lowering treatment Lipitor. Keytruda’s growing momentum pushed sales constantly to higher spheres, ranking fifth among the world’s top-selling drugs in 2018 and second in 2020, but still far behind Humira. During the pandemic and with Humira finally facing biosimilar competition in the U.S, Keytruda closed the gap. Humira´s sales continued plummeting while Keytruda´s have continued to spiral upward. Merck´s cancer drug generated sales of $5.8 billion in the first quarter of 2023, $6.3 billion in the second and third quarters each, and $6.6 billion in the fourth quarter, while AbbVie´s adalimumab made it to $10.5 billion through the first three quarters of 2023. Some of Keytruda´s success in 2023 can be credited to recent approvals that have moved it into earlier lines of treatment, including triple negative breast cancer and renal cell carcinoma. Some analysts expect Keytruda’s momentum to continue in 2024, projecting sales of $30 billion. Keytruda’s run at the top could be short, however. Novo Nordisk’s semaglutide diabetes and obesity treatments Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus are gaining ground quickly. In vitro diagnostics are products used on biological samples to determine the status of a person's health, such as HIV tests, pregnancy tests or COVID-19 tests. The In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation, applicable since May 2022, aims to modernise and upgrade the EU framework for these products to ensure their safety for patients.
