Discover the dynamic pair that will elevate your negotiation tactics: Assertiveness and Empathy.✨ 👉 Assertiveness involves clearly and confidently voicing your needs and limits. It means holding your ground respectfully and being open to discussions. It's not about aggression but about being straightforward and truthful. 👉 Empathy is the ability to understand and share someone else's feelings. In negotiations, it's about truly seeing the other person's point of view and building a bond that encourages trust and mutual respect. The Power of Their Union: Merging assertiveness with empathy leads to a well-rounded negotiation approach. You can stand firm on your needs while considering the feelings of others, paving the way for outcomes where everyone feels valued and understood. 🙏 💡 Strategies for blending assertiveness and empathy: 1. Engage in active listening: Fully grasp what the other person is saying before presenting your stance. 2. Be clear in your communication: State your needs and limits thoughtfully and straightforwardly. 3. Aim for mutual benefits: Look for solutions that honour both your interests and those of the other party. Incorporate this mix into your next negotiation and notice the transformation not only in the results but also in your perception of the negotiation journey. Assertiveness and empathy together position you as a negotiator who is both powerful and empathetic. ✨ #negotiationskills #empathy #assertiveness #professionalgrowth #leadership #womeninbusiness #careerdevelopment #empowerment #growthmindset #skillsdevelopment

Ninja Negotiator | Consultant (Procurement & Business) I teach leaders how to access their full potential and ask for more in life with a new paradigm of Negotiation skills 🇫🇷/🇺🇸
We’re scared to ask for more. My client was stuck in a pattern of asking for less during negotiations… She wanted to feel powerful during these conversations She wanted to stay in her centre, and hold her nerve so she could play a bigger game and ask for more But instead she’d panic, get flustered, and feel the pressure. When you do the inner work to get crystal clear on what you want, and learn how to believe that you deserve it…. It’s SO much easier to ask for what you really want And to do it with power. I see so many people undervaluing themselves and their work because they don’t believe they deserve more at the subconscious level . If you come to your negotiation conversations from a place of fear — you won’t get what you really deserve. How can you get more out of life if you don’t believe you deserve it? And if you never learn how to ask for it? —--------------- I’m Firdaoussi Nouzlat ASSOUMANI I write about Negotiation, empowering you to create the life of your dreams with better conversations, better contracts, and better communication. 💫 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Have you ever walked into a negotiation feeling like the other person held all the cards? It's a common feeling, but here's a little secret: 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸. Sometimes, we unintentionally place the other party on a pedestal, believing they have more power or leverage than they actually do. This mindset can skew the negotiation before it even starts. So, here's a perspective shift: 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲. They're at the negotiating table because they have needs and interests, and it's your job to find out what those are: 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: 𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Before the negotiation, list down what you bring to the table. This isn’t just about boosting your ego; it's about realising there is a value exchange available. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Often, understanding the other party's needs and limitations can reveal that they’re not as all-powerful as they seem. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻: Approach the negotiation with curiosity, not as a battle. You'll learn more about them when you are focussed on understanding their deeper needs, not focussed on winning over them. Remember, negotiation is not about overpowering but about finding common ground. Keeping this in mind can change the whole dynamic of the conversation. Our latest obsession? Christopher Voss "Never Split the Difference: Negotiating as if Your Life Depended on It." Voss flips negotiation wisdom, emphasizing emotional connection over logic. Think of negotiating with heart, not just brains. 🎉📚 Agnes Watkinson and I are diving into personal development, swapping floaties for negotiation skills because, let's face it, we all negotiate daily, whether over coffee or sealing deals. Chris' secret sauce? Calculated empathy. It's like a Jedi mind trick, nodding and reflecting back feelings to make them feel heard and understood—like a therapy session, minus the Kleenex. 🤣🤝 Voss also dishes out tactics like the "accusation audit," triggering empathy before your counterpart can respond. And it's not just warm fuzzies; Voss emphasizes giving your counterpart control with open-ended questions. So why the geek-out? In Organizational Change, negotiation skills are crucial against resistance to change. And we AMC Services - Fractional People & Culture come up against a lot of resistance! Ninja Negotiator | Consultant (Procurement & Business) I teach leaders how to access their full potential and ask for more in life with a new paradigm of Negotiation skills 🇫🇷/🇺🇸
“No” is not the end! I always say that N O stands for ‘next one’ When you learn how to embrace receiving a “no”, you realize that it can be the beginning of a new conversation. Don’t get offended. Get curious. And say “thank you for letting me know” Ask them for their reasons. Give ideas, and compromises, and alternate solutions. Respect the outcome, and stay positive. When you learn how to get comfortable with hearing “no”... you feel less afraid of asking for more in the future. Just remember…. there’s always the “next one” Why do you think we’re so afraid of hearing the word “no”? —--------------- I’m Firdaoussi Nouzlat ASSOUMANI, I write about Negotiation, empowering you to create the life of your dreams with better conversations, better contracts, and better communication. Goal: Make the shift from ‘winning’ to understanding this week⭐️ This week I began my weekly reading challenge. Without spoiling the title, I want to share a thought-provoking quote from my current read: "Those who see negotiation as a battle of arguments are often overwhelmed by their own thoughts. When they're not speaking, they're thinking about their next point. When they are speaking, they're presenting their arguments." This really struck me. Negotiation is crucial in both personal and professional life. We often enter these situations armed with prepared arguments, but this mindset can actually block our ability to truly listen. It's a reminder that effective negotiation isn't just about making our points, but also about being present and receptive to the other party. By shifting our focus from 'winning' to understanding, we unlock a new level of communication. This approach transforms negotiations from confrontations into collaborations, opening doors to innovative solutions and stronger relationships. Challenge: In your next discussion, try entering with curiosity instead of a prepared script. The results might surprise you.🚀 #MindsetShift #NegotiationSkills #EmpathicListening #LeadershipLessons
