In honor of #NationalInternDay, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on my time at NEI Corporation as a Marketing Intern.
When I started at NEI in late May, I had a good understanding of the product launch pipeline from my classes, but actually playing a part in making it happen was new to me. Throughout my internship, I worked in conjunction with the Sales Operations Manager, Krista Martin, to launch 2 new products and 1 new service. It has been very rewarding to see ideas I’ve had come to life and I’ve learned a lot about SEO optimization, marketing to a technical audience, email marketing, and website design through Krista’s invaluable feedback along the way.
In turn, I have been able to help execute more robust, omnichannel marketing efforts to target the customers we already have through email and find new ones through expanded social media and online advertising efforts. I took the initiative to build a system to keep track of content ideas, progress, and posting, which has proved to be an essential tool in getting content made, approved, organized, and posted in a timely manner.
Besides all that I have learned about marketing and small business dynamics, I now know more about the components and process of making a battery then I ever thought I would!
Thank you Ganesh Skandan for bringing me on. I’m looking forward to a few more amazing weeks at NEI, before returning to Rutgers in the fall.
