Is this another name change for the sake of it? Community Planning Partnerships (CPP) If you don’t know what it is, it will be a good idea to find out in your area. It is an alliance of Public and Private Services, Local Authorities, and Communities to co-produce and deliver better services that truly impact people’s lives by reducing inequality and enhancing community well-being. This is a gathering of variety of stakeholders in Lincolnshire to look at data, identify what people need (not just what people want) to ensure tailored solutions. By collaborating, CPPs tackle disparities head-on. They channel resources where they’re most impactful, bridging gaps and fostering equity. It is not possible without - Inclusive Decision-Making - Local Priorities - Diverse Perspectives - Shared Ownership - Mobilising Resources We have Lincolnshire County Council, Public Health, Data Intelligence, PCNs, St Barnabas Hospice, ICB, Age UK, Carers, EMAS, Acute and Community Hospital Trusts, Mental Heath Trust, Patient representative and this is just the start. We intend to make it transformational! We are just starting and I'll keep you posted. #cpp #collaboration #healthinequality #inclusion #nottransactional

In a world quick to categorize societal issues by race, it's crucial to spotlight the socio-economic divide as a primary catalyst of inequality. From health disparities to community development, wealth—or the lack thereof—plays a pivotal role. Let's engage in meaningful dialogue on how to address this widening gap and foster a more inclusive society. Gabriel D.A. Langley Stoy Hall, CFP® #SocioEconomicDivide #InclusiveGrowth

Author of I'M NOT BROKEN & NO ESTOY ROTO | TEDx Speaker | Consultant to Philanthropy on Social Impact Investments, Affordable Housing, Racial Justice, 2SLGBTQ+ issues, Substance Abuse, & Human Trafficking
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released a 1st of its kind report on housing for survivors of trafficking. The report explores the availability of housing and services, barriers to accessing housing, best practices such as trauma-informed care and culturally specific services, and recommendations like investing in flexible funding practices. As a survivor and a lived experience expert, whose professional journey has traversed the realms of affordable housing finance, real estate development, philanthropy, and impact investing, I see this report as a call to action and a step forward. The findings underscore a reality that many of us have long understood: the imperative of bringing lived experience experts to the forefront of our strategies and solutions. Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative potential of investing in BIPOC-owned real estate development companies and LGBTQ+ housing developments. Philanthropy, high-net-worth individuals, and real estate moguls alike possess the resources to make a tangible difference. Let's support survivor-led housing developments, leveraging the insight and resilience of those of us who have navigated the path, to not only provide a safe space for healing but also empower survivors to lead a charge for change. This is more than an investment in bricks and mortar; it's an investment in healing, in community, and in the future. My journey from trafficking and homelessness to graduating from UC Berkeley and Harvard, and a post graduate fellowship at UPenn in urban redevelopment is a testament to what is possible. Join me in advocating for a world where every survivor has the opportunity to thrive, free from the shadows of their past, and have a safe place to call home. Let's invest in solutions that uplift and empower, ensuring that no family or child endures the horrors that too many of us have faced. We can do this. #EndTrafficking #SurvivorLedSolutions #HousingForAll #philanthropy Hispanics in Philanthropy https://lnkd.in/g8YdMXAq

NEW Connecting for Good #Impact Report reveals what we are learning about #ShiftingPower to communities. Please dive in for a peer-led, mixed approach evaluation of Coventry's social movement against isolation and marginalisation - a few headlines below. Full report: https://bit.ly/3XZ652T
The impact and learning is in for our Connecting for Good efforts. Big thanks go to Anthill Collective and our peer evaluators. We believe that the key to closing equity gaps is direct participation by impacted communities in developing and implementing solutions. Connecting for Good (CfG) is an ecosystem of 18 community-led initiatives creating stronger, fairer #Coventry communities in which local people come together to act on their challenges. Our headline impacts: INCREASED POWER TO MAKE CHANGE - CfG members are three times more likely than the national average to think they have the power to influence local decisions - CfG members are much more likely to have taken part in civic activism, civic participation or civic consultation activities in the past 12 months than the national average. INCREASED LEADERSHIP CAPACITY - Over two thirds of CfG members reported increases in their ability to lead - 85 per cent of CfG members say they are more confident leading. GREATER SENSE OF BELONGING - 88 per cent of CfG members said they felt like they belonged to their local community - significantly higher than the national average (65 per cent) - Sense of belonging is also higher than the national average for groups more likely to experience isolation or marginalisation, such as disabled people (71 per cent versus 62 per cent) and people from ethnically minoritised communities (88 per cent versus 60 per cent). STRONGER COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS - Members of CFG have very strong social support networks to turn to for help (98 per cent) despite many having traits that make them more at risk of being isolated and marginalised. GREATER COLLABORATION ACROSS THE SYSTEM - Many tangible examples of greater collaboration across Coventry, whether that’s with the council, community organisations or local businesses. Empowering Communities, One Step at a Time 🌍 At Signals from the Grassroots, we believe in the power of the youth to spearhead meaningful change within their communities. Our mission is not just about addressing immediate needs but about giving hope, courage, and opportunities to those who need it most. We’re dedicated to empowering young people to take the lead in transforming their environments, driving social progress, and creating a brighter future for all. Our work spans across various initiatives, from the “Keep Her In School” project, which addresses menstrual hygiene and education for girls, to broader community development programs that uplift entire districts. We focus on holistic, grassroots efforts that not only meet immediate needs but also build long-term resilience and capacity within communities. Why is this important to us? Because we know that real change comes from within, and when young people are equipped with the right tools and knowledge, they can change the world. Through our programs, we’re making a difference by ensuring that the next generation has the opportunity to lead, innovate, and inspire. Together, we’re not just making an impact—we’re building a movement. 💪🌱 #YouthEmpowerment #CommunityDevelopment #GrassrootsChange #SocialImpact #EducationForAll #SignalsFromTheGrassroots #Empowerment #HopeAndCourage #ChangeMakers

In the February 2024 Housing & Health issue of Health Affairs, Kierra Barnett of Nationwide’s Children’s Hospital and her team of coauthors document the history of structural racism in Linden, a neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. Linden is a neighborhood characterized by high rates of unemployment, crime, and disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. The authors contextualize these disparities through an exploration of 100 years of discriminatory state and local policies, particularly those related to housing, that have shaped health in Linden, Ohio. These policies include racial deed restrictions, redlining, blockbusting, mass incarceration, and the subprime lending crisis. Barnett and coauthors advocate for structural racism- and discrimination-informed strategic community development initiatives to promote lasting change in Linden.
