🌏 One of our latest case studies, now live on our website and with Post Construction BRE certification, where we assessed BREEAM UK Non-Domestic at an exciting commercial project for Burberry, at Terminal 5, Heathrow... The proposed development at Burberry, was at RIBA STAGE 2, assessing under part 3 and 4 of the retail shopping unit with a total area of 200m² within a shopping canter in the Heathrow Airport, Terminal 5. The credits were targeted by the design team who were to provide evidence in the form of specifications, drawings, reports and commitment letters to secure the design stage rating. Supporting British suppliers and controlling production in the UK ensures that sustainable and ethical practices are upheld; creating local jobs with good wages; strengthening the local community while delivering quick lead times. By following these roots we can ensure waste is minimised by limiting the need for regular replacements. The peak of throwaway culture is coming to an end and consumers are realising the damage this is doing to the planet and ourselves. The UK's capital has seen the highest volume of refurbishment schemes starting since records began in 2005, with 37 new schemes covering 3.2 million sq. ft according to Deloitte’s London Office Crane Survey Summer 2023. Investing now in robust, longstanding furniture aesthetically and structurally that can be easily refurbished and renovated after a long service life ensures we are securing future projects for ESG and Net Zero goals - pushing forward the built environment.
