The Pacific Northwest to Alaska Green Corridor project is preparing to study the feasibility of four green methanol-powered cruise ships operating complete Alaskan itineraries by 2032, with at least one ship in service in the market by 2030. This initiative not only aims to reduce air emissions in the region, but also supports the cruise industry's larger sustainability goals, as we continue to pursue zero net emissions by 2050! #WeARECruise

Viking Line will celebrate Baltic Sea Day by introducing the first green corridor ever on the Baltic Sea, between Turku and Stockholm, for one week. Our climate-smart vessels, Viking Glory and Viking Grace, will only use liquefied biogas (LBG) as fuel from August 29 to September 4, which will reduce the vessels’ carbon dioxide emissions by 90 per cent. 🚢🌍 During the week, a total of about 2,600 fewer tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions will be generated than normally. The reduction corresponds to the annual average carbon dioxide footprint for 270 Finns. “This is a historic moment for us, the Baltic Sea and maritime transport. Scheduled service has never before been powered solely by biofuel,” says our Sustainability Manager, Dani Lindberg During the week, which kicks off with Baltic Sea Day, Viking Glory and Viking Grace will demonstrate what the future looks like for the first green shipping corridor on the Baltic Sea. 🚢 Did you know you can reduce your travel emissions on the Turku route to a tenth of the normal year-round? It’s easy: simply choose biofuel when making your reservation. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/d6xYFMG8 #vikingline #sustainability #greencorridor #balticseaday

SMART CHOICE FOR THE BALTIC SEA As a part of our environmental journey, we have since the summer of 2023 offered a possibility for our passengers and for our freight units to reduce the climate footprint of their journey with our two vessels sailing twice a day between Turku in Finland and Stockholm in Sweden by purchasing biofuel equivalent to the emissions. This will allow us to proportionally augment our biofuel acquisitions for carbon-neutral trips. On the upcoming Baltic Sea Day, Thursday the 29th of August and one-week onwards our climate-smart vessels Viking Grace and Viking Glory will solely be powered by biofuel. We are doing this to demonstrate what the future looks like and to increase the awareness of the already existing green shipping corridor on the Baltic Sea, among the other things. It is interesting to being able to be part of this development and being able to offer this opportunity even to freight customers between Finland and Sweden.

🚗 👣 Györök Ltd. has already joined the Clean Advantage™ programme to reduce the CO2 emissions of our business. 🌳 The initiative is designed to support tree planting, create alternative energy and invest in other carbon reduction projects. 🌐 The program automatically calculates the CO2 emissions of company fleets and significantly reduces them through proportionate investments that sequester carbon in the atmosphere, so that the vehicles of program participants can be the cleanest on the road - even cleaner than the average electric or CNG vehicle. ✅ With our FLEETCOR fleet cards, we can now contribute to saving and protecting our environment. #gyorokgep #GyörökKft #CleanAdvantage #FleetCor #CO2 #ProtectEnvironment

💚 We aspire to lead the way in minimising our environmental impact and to be a trailblazer for environmental, social and governance (ESG) within the legal sector. 💡 Between 2023 – 2024 alone, Fletchers Group completed an environmental audit, and reduced our energy consumption across the business. 🎐 As we kick off 2025, we’re delighted that we are now powering our Southport office by 100% renewable energy which is an important milestone on our journey to Net Zero. 🌱 Southport is the first Fletchers office that opened, and is, to this day, our largest so this achievement is a fantastic way to start 2025 and we’re excited to launch our Net Zero strategy plan later in the year. #ESG #NetZero #Sustainability #ResponsibleBusiness #CSR #RenewableEnergy

Is it smart to use the limited supply of green energy to create green fuels for the shipping industry, which only accounts for just under 3% of global GHG emissions? My good colleague Liv A. penned the interview with Odfjell SE's CIO Øistein Jensen. Link below! #shipping #sustainability #energy #energytransition
Should sparse green energy really be used as ship fuel? Øistein Jensen Chief Sustainability Officer at Odfjell SE kicks off the tough debate. ”We question whether it is right to use the limited resource that is green energy to make fuels that have so little effect?," he tells ShippingWatch. #shipping #oceanfreight #sustainability #energytransition #energy #climatechange #freight
