Hello everyone!
For this summer I was lucky enough to receive an internship through the UNH ECenter (Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center), working with the start-up company Account Tree located in Dover, NH.
Account Tree is a SaaS service that provides an array of services that simplify the accounting process at both the school and district level, while supplying students with the necessary functionalities needed to promote financial literacy.
I’ve come to learn A TON in only my first week, with a few surprises snuck in-between.
Here are some highlights from my first couple days on the job:
Monday:
I received an updated demo of the product and got my first experience playing around and becoming familiar with the software.
Tuesday:
Today was spent reading the entirety of the Student Activity Fund Handbook for the State of New Hampshire. Later on, I hopped into a demo with Kevin and discovered a bug in the account assignment process.
Wednesday:
The team wanted me to become familiar with all upcoming BRDs, so I went through a handful and added my input where I had ideas. We bounced these ideas off one-another and if they were viable or not.
Preparing for the trade show to come the next day, we got stuck in the office elevator for 30 minutes! Fun experience to end the day.
Thursday:
Trade show day! The team went to the ASBO conference in Portland, ME. Here we made many connections, and the day was a huge success.
Friday:
This was a big debugging day. I wanted to try and break our new Withdrawal build to find any new errors and report them back to the Dev team. For any errors I found, I wrote a detailed plan to fix them partnered with examples and individual instructions.
I couldn’t be happier with this opportunity or feel more valued within this group. Excited to see not only my growth, but the growth of the company as a whole during the time of my internship.
