Hello, Connections! ⚠️want to share my story of how I fell victim to an internship scam and what I learned from it! ‼️A few months ago, companies called Toledo Finance and Florida United Insurance. They claimed to be Finance firms with clients all over the world seeking an IT professional. I was excited when I received an email from them saying that I was selected for an interview. ⁉️The interview was conducted over Teams by a person who introduced himself as the manager. He asked me some basic questions about my skills, experience, and availability! After a few hours of the interview got a reply from them saying "Got selected, please provide details and fill out the forms" which they sent asking for personal information related to bank statements and SSN! ‼️I did some research about the company and found out that the contact details and the profile on social media like LinkedIn don't seem really trustworthy! I have also gone through their mail and found out it is Fake!! ‼️decided to report the scam to the authorities and to warn other people about it. I learned that I was not the only one who had been scammed and that there were many similar cases of internship scams happening online. ❇️I want to share some tips on how to avoid internship scams and how to spot them before it's too late. 🔵 If you see a job scam, or lose money to one, report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. You can also report it to your state attorney general. Find out more about how to avoid scams at ftc.gov/scams. ➡️Do your research. Before applying for an internship, make sure that the company is legitimate and reputable. Check their website, social media, reviews, and ratings. Look for any signs of inconsistency, spelling errors, or poor design. ➡️Be wary of unsolicited offers. If you receive an email or a message from a company that you have never heard of or applied to, be suspicious. Don't click on any links or attachments that they send you. ➡️Ask questions. During the interview, ask the interviewer about the company's history, mission, vision, and goals. Ask them about the internship's duration, compensation, benefits, and expectations. Ask them for their contact information and verify it. ➡️Don't pay anything. If the company asks you to pay for anything, such as a registration fee, a training fee, or a background check, it's a scam. Legitimate internships don't charge you anything to apply or to work for them. ➡️Trust your gut. If something feels off or too good to be true, it probably is. Don't ignore your intuition and don't let your excitement cloud your judgment. People who are looking for Internships, please go through these links: ⏩ https://lnkd.in/geKj9XSi ⏩ https://lnkd.in/gjhpNJTn 💟 NYSC has got lot of opportunities. After 4 years of hard work, I am proud to announce that I have achieved my CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Up until college, I was convinced that my professional calling was to become either a teacher or a guidance counselor. When I started college, a mentor impacted my life by saying "Sales might be a different route for you, kid. I think you got what it takes. If you do it right, selling is counseling." This mentor offered me a sales internship, and the next semester I changed my major. With that being said, to have the designated title of "Certified Insurance Counselor" is extra special, because it feels like the culmination of a lifelong goal. What better way to view my role than counseling and educating my clients/prospective clients on risk management, business continuity, and asset protection? #CICcertified #goalaccomplished #ontothenextone

Friends And All Connections! Today I'm going to share an experience with you that what happened today with me & you will be amazed to know that even in pakistan Insurance and Banks are getting worse day by day. You know what happened two months ago to a person who was named Hafeez or something else who was just killed by an unknown employee of HBL. becuase of this they are getting disreputed day by day. what happened with me is That EFU life assurance company had just posted an ad which just caught my attention for a business development officer positon. which was actually misnamed as This ad is from Allied Bank, I don't know why. but maybe for mis guidance. if i had known that this ad is from an insurance company. i should've never applied. becuase i knew that insurance companies and industry that i had never interest with. A call came to me from this number (022) 833 4260 saying that you have just got an interview tomorrow means 25th May 2024 with the company of EFU life assurance. and when i got into the location this was really an insurance branch located in Hyderabad. and when i got into the company they just said wait for few minutes and fill the form, when i filled the form. The person i got an interview with was start talking and said that you've got no experience and you are fresher that's why we have to teach you from the beginning and i wasn't there for the internship. then they said you've got an internship On monday. they said if you perform well. then you will be promoted to the job and advanced position. Problem with me is why did they got me for an interview while i wasn't a good fit and experience didn't got matched with the job description why the hell there was a need to call me for the interview. in the job description it was mentiond that Freshers are not required but may be prefered. i was amazed becuase didn't anyone applied in this job, So i was only in whole hyderabad? and if I wasn't a good fit then why they called me? they should have approached a good from me. even i didn't mention sales internship there. they said you've got an internship with us. why the hell is this. by the way this is thier reality that they are fooling on Rozee.Pk to everyone who is just new and don't know anything about the frauds of these companies doing and manipulating everyone. EFU Life Assurance Ltd.

Agile Product Management | Technical User Stories | Scrum/Agile Methodologies | Scrum Planning/Retrospective | Design Thinking Implementation
Good morning My Fellow Peeps, It is Friday and it is my 42nd day of being laid off from work. Being a single mother of two beautiful kids, this is a blessing and curse at the same time. The blessing of spending every moment with my kiddos during non-school hours. Enjoying their smiles, laughter, innocence, and simply being there to support them in whatever their hearts are pursuing in those moments. The curse in this being my first layoff and not knowing how long this could potentially last. Staying positive, optimistic, as I sit with the grief and figure out what comes next. Applying and competing for positions, as the world rapidly, technologically progresses and wondering if the experience and skills cultivated all these years are still relevant. Well, I say they are still necessary and relevant! I applied to my first job in the Financial sector, at a shiny age of 21, for a mailroom clerk position at a well-known St. Louis based full-service brokerage firm. At the time, my skills and experience were minimal at best and did not meet (to the naked eye) the minimum qualifications of other posted positions. An HR Recruiter called me to schedule an interview. It was very exciting for me, as this company was local, well-thought of, and wanted to offer little me an opportunity to interview. Interview day came and I was nervous and simply wanted an opportunity to demonstrate my ability to professionally grow with the company. So, I composed myself, drink a glass of water, and shared the story of me. At the end, the HR Recruiter shared their honest thoughts. HR Recruiter: “Dear, You are overqualified for the mailroom clerk position. Why did you apply to this position when we have others to suit you and your skills?” Me: “The only other experience I have is working at a local law firm, as a Docket Clerk, and I did not see any legal positions available with my limited work experience.” HR Recruiter: “Well, I believe we have a more suitable position for your intelligence and skills. I know the hiring manager very well and you would be a good fit for her team. Would you be interested?” Well, to say the least, I was hired as an Annuity and Insurance Commissions Analyst for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. My time with them prepared me for an unknown future ( a story to be told later), allowed me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and most importantly taught me the art of recruitment and offering support. To all of those “open to work”, it is a challenging time. Below is a tip, I picked up over the last several weeks in hopes of changing my situation. Tip: Some companies use Application Tracking Systems (ATS) to grade your resume in the application process. Try using a scanning tool to compare your resume to the job description, prior to applying, to see how your resume fairs. May you be well.

How do you get people interested in a Compliance Career? Teach them about Money Laundering 📌💸🫢 This video generated: 210 Shares → 1932 Saves→ 53,700 Views But most importantly converted to 200+ applications submitted. Resulting in one of Beyond Education (BE)'s employer partners hiring 5 high-quality diverse interns. Let's break down why this video worked: 1️⃣ I made a promise I will teach you how to launder money An opportunity to learn how to do it And also get paid in the process 2️⃣ I delivered on the promise A comprehensive video on the process ↳(shortened version for LinkedIn) A presentation with real-life case studies A job opportunity at the end of the video 3️⃣ A Call to Action with a twist The job opportunity: Prevent Money Laundering You get paid to learn how to do this on the job So technically, it's not a lie - No harm, no foul Instead of a boring 1-hour training module, I added a cheeky little spin on the compliance training you'd receive at work 🫢 Text-heavy job descriptions with no context just don’t cut it. You need out-of-the-box proactive marketing efforts to attract diverse talent to your jobs and get them to buy into your employer brand. This is the future of Talent Acquisition and we are the pioneers at Beyond Education 👑 What do you guys think, too risky? 👀 PS: No employers were harmed in this video, but I will elaborate more on that in tomorrow's post 👀
