Excited to share our progress after 18 weeks of construction at Shimer Square with Estes Construction: . ⏰ 19,900 hours of work completed 👷♂️ 27 workers on average per week ✅ Zero safety incidents . These numbers reflect more than just statistics. We are proud to work with Estes Construction and all subcontractors, who have ensured a safe environment for construction to continue without incidents. The safety of all on site is our utmost priority. . 🛡️ 19,900 hours completed by dedicated workers who have battled heat and challenging conditions within historic buildings, meticulously saving and inventorying each historically significant piece and rehabilitating historic windows. It’s solid, hard work, but the rewards are immense as we witness the transformation into 51 new apartments. . 💬 The saying, "they don't build 'em like they used to" rings true in the hallways of Shimer Square. Solid craftsmanship went into building these structures, and we’re proud that solid craftsmanship is shaping its future. . Thank you Gabrielle Gould for bringing this to light. Let's start by focusing on our existing conditions and quality as it pertains to historic preservation and new builds. First, the statement “cheaper is better” has been ingrained in our building patterns and it needs to stop. Design, architecture, planning, and engineering is an art. A key signature of the team or individual who created it. I say team because most times it takes a team to bring it to fruition. “Wait, isn’t the quick prefab supposed to be more efficient?” Not exactly. The old way was! This is why we still see ancient marvels that baffle current structural engineering understanding. Look at the Pyramids or Manchu Pichu! These amazing feets are still standing to this day. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn't built in a day.” It certainly was not. So how can we build more resilient buildings? Start by getting to know the history and partner with an archeologist. Building quality is worth every dollar, it creates a vibrant community for all income types.

A closely watched project that will add more than 1,700 apartments to Jersey City’s booming Journal Square neighborhood is on the verge of two key construction milestones. Its developer, Kushner Cos., says the first phase of what’s known as One Journal Square is more than three months ahead of schedule and will top out by April, as crews complete the steel frame for the 64-story, 966-unit north tower. The firm at that point will also start vertical construction on the second phase, where plans call for another 757 units atop the podium that’s been built to support both structures. Cherry Creek's Landscape Set to Transform: Major Rezoning Milestone Achieved The Cherry Creek West project, a proposed redevelopment of nearly 13 acres at East 1st Avenue and University Boulevard, just cleared a crucial step. Here's what's planned: Rezoning approved for up to 13-story buildings Mixed-use plan: 4 residential buildings, 3 office buildings, restaurants, and services 2,000 spaces of underground parking 4 acres of open space Widened walking and biking paths along the creek 12% affordable housing for those making 60% of area median income The project aims to transform what's currently Elway's steakhouse, a running store, and a large parking lot. Phase 1, ending in 2029, will develop the east side near Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Demolition and utility work are expected to begin in 2026.
