Hello connections!!! "I'm thrilled to share that I recently participated in an exhilarating 24-hour hackathon hosted by Google Development Club, held from January 31st to February 1st. Alongside a talented team of innovators, we embarked on a mission to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: creating waste-free cities. With determination and creativity fueling our efforts, we conceptualized and developed a website that serves as a platform to envision and promote waste-free urban environments. Our vision is not just about reducing waste but inspiring a cultural shift towards sustainable living practices. Throughout the hackathon, we faced numerous challenges, from coding complexities to design dilemmas. However, our collective passion and collaborative spirit propelled us forward, turning obstacles into opportunities for innovation. By the end of the intense 24-hour sprint, we emerged with a functional website prototype, showcasing interactive features, educational resources, and community engagement tools aimed at fostering a waste-free ethos. Receiving a certificate from Google Development Club for our participation in this hackathon is not just a recognition of our efforts but a testament to the power of technology and teamwork in driving positive change. I'm immensely proud of what we accomplished in such a short timeframe and excited about the potential impact our project can have on shaping a more sustainable future for generations to come. I extend my gratitude to Google Development Club for organizing this transformative event and to my amazing teammates for their dedication and collaboration. Together, let's continue striving towards waste-free cities and a cleaner, greener planet. ♻️💻 #HackathonSuccess #WasteFreeCities #Sustainability"

Annual hackathon at work was this past Tuesday! We had such a fantastic time, working on great ideas to add to the platform. Best parts of the Hackathon: - Getting to see people in person and work towards a specific mission - Getting some kind of deliverable from start to finish in a day - Creates start up energy at a big company - Having a sense of urgency around ideas we are passionate about - Talking about the 'how' behind ideas from start to finish (for my team working with Solutions Engineers this is common, but for a lot of teams they don't get to interact directly with design, eng., product a lot) It was a really great way to spend a day and definitely teaches you how to cut, cut, cut to get to an MVP. 10/10 would hack again.

Last weekend, my team and I had the incredible opportunity to participate in our very first hackathon organized by our college Laxmi Devi Institute Of Engineering and Technology. It was an exhilarating experience filled with sleepless nights 🕗, intense brainstorming sessions 💡, and the sheer joy of creating something innovative from scratch 🎉. We chose to develop a Smart Event Management System, aiming to revolutionize how events are organized and managed 🎟️. Our team consisted of passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing a unique set of skills to the table. Our team members are: - AASHISH KUMAR SAINI (Backend Developer) 🖥️ - Sachin Singh(Backend Developer) 🖥️ - Rizwan Ali (Frontend Developer) 🖥️ - Sachin Kumar (Frontend Developer) 🖥️ - Divya Khandelwal (UI/UX Designer) 🎨 - Manish Mahawar (Backend Developer) 🖥️ **Features of Our Smart Event Management System**: - **User-Friendly Registration**: A streamlined registration process that allows users to sign up for events effortlessly 📝. - **Dynamic Scheduling**: Automated schedule adjustments to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth transitions between sessions ⏰. - **Real-Time Notifications**: Instant updates and alerts to keep attendees informed about any changes or important announcements 🔔. - **Feedback Collection**: Integrated feedback forms to gather attendee opinions and improve future events 🗣️. - **Analytics Dashboard**: A robust analytics dashboard for event organizers to track attendance, engagement, and overall success metrics 📊. The hackathon environment was both challenging and inspiring. We faced numerous obstacles, from technical glitches to time constraints ⏱️, but the collaborative spirit of the team kept us going 🤝. Each member contributed their expertise, and we learned a lot from the process 🌟

2024 marked our third annual Hackathon here at Workato—it’s definitely my favorite time of year. I can’t believe it’s already been three years of our teams working together to create solutions and automation for their day-to-day challenges! This year, we had a great turnout—107 participants and 37 video submissions from nine departments and 15 countries! This year's hackathon produced an incredibly high quality of hacks, innovation, and ideas. I’m excited to share the winners from each of this year’s categories: 1. Biggest Value for Customers: Luke Modlmayr 2. Biggest Value for Internal Use: Kai Van de Carr, Jia Ying Lee 3. Most Innovative: Alvin Ee, Casey Rosalina Lian, Sean Ishijima, Kiko Yee 4. Best to Increase Revenue Using AI: Joseph Kaplan, Alexander Grivnin 5. Best to Reduce Internal Costs Using AI: Effie Tan, Alicia Koh, Allan Tan Weizhuang, Jude Vincent Guliman 6. Best Hack Overall: Teo Sean, Grace Yong, and Tianhui Huang🚀 A huge thank you to Ryan Koh, Andres Ramirez, Shyam Bhojwani, and our guest judge Saiesh Prakash from Coinbase for participating in the voting process this year—we couldn’t have done this without you!

Last week, we had our bi-annual company retreat. Besides high-level talks, workshops, and integration activities, I like to prepare something exciting and tech-related that we don’t typically do during regular workdays. Last year, we organized a hackathon where we explored new platforms and tried to build something useful. This year, we organized a cloneable challenge. The rules were simple: build a project others might want to use, collect the most clones of your project, and win prizes. The results? A lot of fun A great competitive atmosphere 8 projects delivered that other developers can use or get inspired by Excellent marketing materials Link's below, if you’re interested in checking them out :) https://lnkd.in/dR25N66W

Want to know the secret ingredient to a winning hackathon project? 🏆 It's not just about the code - it's about the story you tell.📖 Ricky Diep, Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft dropped some wisdom in our recent webinar: "Any great product you build... if you're not able to teach people how to use it or showcase what it's built for, it may not be great without that story backing it." 📝 Hackathon participants, take note: Your ability to communicate the vision and application of your project could be the key to standing out. In the last 8-9 months, I have participated in 3 #hackathons and won zero, not even a consolation prize 😢 , which was becoming a legit trauma. So, when the good folks at #google reached out with an invitation to participate in a hackathon which they would host at their #berlin office, all the wounds came screaming back- "You're not good enough", my depleting self-worth cussed at me. Somewhat reluctantly, I agreed to participate (they promised goodies). The prototype my team worked on was a practical idea- not some fancy, futuristic idea with zero productionisation potential, which is something I'm always drawn to. So, for the fourth time in last months, I rolled up my sleeves and got to working with my new team. 2 days later- we actually won! I finally managed to be on a team that won a hackathon! No more therapy sessions needed :D P.S.- Winning a hackathon wasn't as important as I might have led you to believe, but it was surely a good feeling. At the risk of sounding cliché, the process of prototyping a rather practical and useful idea with a team that collaborated really well together was the most enjoyable part. Here's a picture of the team so that linkedin thinks it's an important post. Team 5 for the win!!!! Anne Küpper Christian Schäfer Oleksiy Oliynyk Ellina N. Shafeequ Ahmed Christian Reynoso Hunter Danilo Grimm #genai #largelanguagemodels #llms #ai
