3-2-1, blastoff! 🚀 Our Newmont Canada team recently supported the development of engineering and technology post-secondary students as sponsors of the Launch Canada Challenge – an annual advanced engineering competition. This year, the Launch Canada Challenge brought students from more than 20 major post-secondary institutions to the Timmins area where they launched and demonstrated experimental rockets and related technologies. The week-long event was attended by several Newmont staff and allowed students to present their work to judges and a flight safety team. During the closing awards dinner, Shaun Banks, Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer, had the honor of presenting an award to the winning team from the University of Alberta! Congratulations to the winners and all participating students 👏 Thank you to Charles Brooks, P.Eng who represented Newmont at the opening ceremony and the Newmont Porcupine Donation Committee team who made this possible 👉 Gerry Stinson, Donna Byce, Janice Wallgren, P.Eng., Eric Fournier, Justyna Mittelstaedt, P.Eng, Dana Bonsall, and Gordon McFadden. 📸: Launch Control (Day Two) #MiningCareers #MiningInCanada #GoldMining #CopperMining #Newmont
