Despite being home to 17% of the global population, Africa has received less than 2% of worldwide investments in renewable energy in the last two decades. This shows a pressing need to boost investments in renewable energy across the continent. The 1st Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa supported by IRENA is convening governments, financiers, developers, and other stakeholders in the Renewables sector to deliberate on some of the ways they can work together to accelerate the deployment of renewables-based energy systems to enhance energy access, enable green Industrialisation, and improve economic and societal resilience in Africa. LIDA NETWORK was on the ground to support International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) with their communication efforts during the forum. Read how AMEA Power is enhancing Tunisia's renewable energy capacity with this 120MW project in METBASSTA. #AMEAPower #AMEA #SolarEnergy #MiddleEast
Our 120MWp Kairouan Solar PV Project, located in Tunisia, will contribute significantly to the country’s goal of achieving 35% of renewable energy by 2030. The project will generate 222GWh of clean energy annually, power more than 43,000 households and offset 117,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, whilst reducing the country’s dependence on oil and gas imports. AMEA Power was initially awarded the project through an international tender program that was launched by Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry and SMEs, and it is the first project under the concession regime to reach financial close. Join us as we continue to develop a future powered by renewable energy 🌿 #AMEAPower #RenewableEnergy #Sustainable #Tunisia
