🎤 Nexstep keynote speaker at SPE Well Decommissioning Conference At the SPE Aberdeen Well Decommissioning Conference (June 4-5), Nexstep - National Platform for Re-use & Decommissioning will give a keynote presentation on approaching and testing Through Tubing Cementation (TTC) qualification. TTC is a method for the abandonment of wells. An important feature of TTC is that it does not require a drilling rig. Besides presenting TTC, Nexstep also highlights the positive results achieved by the Joint Well Campaign (JWC). Nexstep presents the approach, techniques used, lessons learned and results achieved. The JWC is the first campaign in the world where operators have worked together to decommission wells on this scale. The campaign highlights the importance of good mutual cooperation. 🔗 Nexstep encourages knowledge sharing, promotes effective and efficient regulation, and implements innovative techniques. During the quarter the Company outlined a conceptual Otway gas development strategy that explores a scenario for the application of TDO's T/49P well carry transfer to VIC/P79, providing flexibility to target the most commercially attractive prospects in the initial phase of the 2025 Otway Exploration Drilling Program (OEDP) with Joint Venturer and Operator ConocoPhillips Australia. Drill planning activities for the upcoming OEDP continued with the contracting of Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTSVs) and subsurface evaluation of new and reprocessed 3D seismic towards the selection of drilling locations for Phase 1 of the OEDP. Offshore News - Gulf of Mexico and Indonesia Congratulations Seadrill on the recent multiple contract awards totaling about $97.5 million. Talos Energy contracted the West Vela, 6th Generation drillship for 150 days in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, which is expected to begin the 3Q 2024. The contract value, excluding managed pressure drilling (MPD) services, is approximately $73.5 million. Currently, the West Vela drillship is being managed by Diamond Offshore and working for Beacon Offshore Energy until March 2024. Harbour Energy exercised a one-well option for the West Capella ultra deepwater drillship, extending its operations by two months, offshore Idonesia. The contract is in direct continuation of the rig’s current program and represents a total contract value of approximately $24.0 million.
