Today is Global Recycling Day - an annual event that raises awareness of the importance of recycling - encouraging people to take action to reduce waste and protect the environment. We’re proud of our track record in this area as we strive to keep our factory operations sustainable. Did you know for example that 90% of the raw material used at ACS is recyclable, while the resulting suite of stainless steel products are 100% recyclable too! And we use energy as efficiently as we can; our factory roof houses 249.98Kw photovoltaic renewable energy solar panels, capable of producing almost 1 Mega Watt of electricity per day. As the demand for green energy grows, so does the prevalence of greenwashing – the practice of misleading consumers about the environmental benefits of electricity products and services. Common tactics include overstating renewable energy use, using energy certificates to mask fossil fuel reliance, selective reporting, and employing eco-friendly imagery without substantiation. To combat greenwashing, consumers should demand transparency, verify certifications, research energy mixes, and evaluate long-term sustainability commitments. By doing so, we can support genuinely sustainable energy solutions and ensure a cleaner, more sustainable future.
