We truly believe that the aestethics of our bioreactors play a crucial role when it comes to breaking down complexity barriers for new user groups and its application in the food industry. Therefore, we are excited to announce that our dedication to user centred design has paid off and is being recognized this week by the Red Dot Design Award. The expert committee assessed our submission based on the four basic principles of good design: function, aesthetics, ease of use and sustainability. With a focus on user-friendliness and three different interfaces with increasing complexity for varying user groups our AUXO V convinced the jury. Join us in congratulating our team and check out our winner's page here: https://lnkd.in/eFjhVaPJ #RedDotAward #RedDotWinner #CellularAgriculture #Bioreactor #Bioengineering

🔎 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟴𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁'𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲. 🌟 This highlights the significant influence designers have in the green transition, and how a data-driven approach can support them in making climate-conscious decisions. 😎 MÅLBAR's participation in the “Blind Date” experiment facilitated by Danish Design Makers and ORGATEC Cologne contributes to ensuring that a large heterogeneous group of designers learn about the climate emissions of materials, production processes, waste generation, transport, and packaging through our screening tool. 💪 These creative and very skilled professionals take in an additional working tool to reduce the impact of their designs by considering what effects their design choices have on the final product. 🤔 But is it easy to implement a data heavy tool in a creative design process? 🤓 Read the answer here: https://lnkd.in/dj6YUeBb #designchallenge #climateimpact #danishdesign #dkgreen #målbar

Step into the future of architectural innovation and envision the walls of tomorrow, seamlessly closing the loop of sustainability! Picture this: a facade repurposing locally collected organic waste into a circular design ♻️ Thanks to the pioneering spirit of Dienstverlenende Vereniging DDS and Verko, with the support of Programma Innovatieve Overheidsopdrachten (PIO) from VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship, we united organizations from across industries for a market consultation. Together, we explored the possibilities of producing revolutionary wall cladding from digestate, the residual product from biogas production after fermentation of organic waste. The challenge: turning liquid digestate into a sturdy material that stands the test of time while aligning flawlessly with the stringent demands of modern architecture 🧱 By diving deep into the needs, motivations, and legacies of market participants, manufacturers and experts, you pave the way for a first-time-right value proposition. Through our concept definition pilot, you'll be able to map the requirements of your product and perfect your offerings, leading them to accelerated adoption. Innovation is more than a buzzword: let's create walls that echo a future shaped by creativity and sustainability, one facade at a time 🙌 #StrategicInnovation #ConceptDefinition #Circularity

Will We Break It? This is our new format, in which we'll try to combine real crash tests, humor, and eco-packaging. We've always wondered if eco-packaging can survive the ultimate crash tests, and now we’re putting it to the test! Our bet: will we be able to talk about eco-packaging features in an engaging way, even for those who aren't interested in the topic (yet)? Follow us and get ready for the first episode, coming up next week. You won't want to miss it! #packaging #ecopackaging #crashtest #greenpackaging #design #packagingdesign #humor #sustainablepackaging #innovation #packaginginnovation #sustainability #sustainablepackaging

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! I am excited about reading the two new books about the Green Roof and Green infrastructure industry, including and not limited to Green Roof manuals, biodiversity on Green Roofs, Green Roof construction and maintenance, and guidelines for designing and engineering Roof Gardens.... this was 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝟰𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼. Four decades ago or in 1984, around 2 years after the first Guideline for Planning, Execution and Upkeep of Green Roofs (A.k.a. FLL guidelines) were introduced (in 1982). These books and, among others, are filled with useful information, “White Papers”, and project case studies were crucial in building on my horticultural education and extending my horizon up on the roofs. 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: Many Green Roof solutions that are today bountifully celebrated as innovation on social networks in their own words or with AI, were already done and documented 40+ years ago. I really liked this time because there were no data collectors and research addicts trying to desperately improve nature or natural solutions with 3D printed plastic elements, sensors, or apps. It was all about healthy and resilient plants and this is still my credo. I am proud to have one of the largest archives of modern Green Roof technology. #greenroofs #ecoroof #biodiversity #stormwater #greeninfrastructure #greenroofsystems #solargardenroof #naturalsolution #sedum #nomonoculture #rainwaterharvesting #urbanheatisland #urbanforests #greenwalls #roofgardens

We believe that good design should be intuitive, enjoyable, and impactful. At DODO, we've seen firsthand how design can make a big difference in how people interact with products. This knowledge informs our work as we apply user-centered design principles to understand how people use products in their daily lives. For instance, in a past project focusing on empowering subsistence farmers, we looked at how these farmers interacted with product solutions available to help them increase their output. We studied how they went about their daily lives and interactions within the larger ecosystem. This helped us identify opportunity areas for improvement in how the product could be optimized to fit their lifestyle and needs. #DODOAfrica #usercentereddesign #designresearch #agriculture

Check out this fascinating, important product and great read from Fast Company. 🔵 🔵 🔵 These glowing domes change color based on the water's emotion/health. Utilizing color and translating the water state to an emotion is meant to evoke more empathy with humans around and caring for it. 💡💡💡 Product Designer and Project Lead Ermi van Oers shared that the idea was “to give water a voice,” and create a dialogue between us, humans, and the natural world. “Often, we find it difficult to care for nature because we cannot communicate with it, we have no clue what it needs.” 👉 👉 👉 That really hit home for us as we're constantly looking to improve the water system to benefit nature as well as the communities it supports. What do you think about this innovative product? #waterinnovation #technology #innovation #watersolutions https://lnkd.in/ebsN5zRA
