My book reviews in Critical Asian Studies journal: A Twentieth-Century History of Bombing Civilians. New York: The New Press, 2009, and A History of Bombing. New York: The New Press, 2001. Still very relevant, years ago I wrote a two-book review for Critical Asian Studies, "A Twentieth-Century History of Bombing Civilians" and "A History of Bombing." These books explore the shocking history of warring against helpless civilians on the ground as well as from the air. They give a detailed and nuanced exploration of military aerial bombing campaigns and how they have nightmarishly impacted noncombatants - especially women, children, infants, and the elderly. If I teach twentieth century history in the future, I will make some of their chapters required reading. https://lnkd.in/gZ5wb__u
