Exciting news to share from the CII today!

The CII is excited to expand its efforts to illuminate Long COVID, continuing participation in the second phase of the Long COVID Research Consortium! Thanks to new funding from PolyBio Research Foundation, led by Amy Proal, a team of 5 stellar scientists will investigate the enigmatic mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 viral persistence. The CII Director, Prof. Akiko Iwasaki joins efforts with Prof. Richard Flavell, Prof. Anna Marie Pyle, Prof. Craig Wilen and Prof. Scott Handley (Washington University) to pursue a bold and innovative project that aims to define the molecular structure of the persistent vRNA and test new therapeutic interventions in a novel mouse model developed by the Flavell Lab. Long COVID research is receiving a significant lift today, thanks to PolyBio's distribution of 15 Million dollars to this cause! Funds were allocated across a dozen institutions to interdisciplinary teams who have been leading progress in this field. Thank you for including our team in this exciting new effort to illuminate the root-causes of Long COVID !! Yale University School of Medicine Press Release: https://lnkd.in/eSk5XtJg
