Calling all K-12 educators in New Jersey! The New Jersey Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect’s Subcommittee on Race, Poverty and Neglect is seeking input from educators about their experiences with identifying and/or reporting child neglect. We're looking for education professionals who can participate in a 90 minute focus group facilitated by an independent research group that will report the data in aggregate. Responses will not be linked to any one participant. Background: Through this exercise, the Subcommittee seeks to better understand how children are assessed for neglect and the pathways through which families suspected of child neglect are encountering the child welfare system. The Subcommittee’s members include representatives from health care, academia, child advocacy, and local human services, as well as representatives from the NJ Departments of Human Services, Education, and Children and Families, and parents with lived experience in the child protection system. The Subcommittee will use input from you and other child-serving professionals to inform recommendations to the NJ Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect. Individuals who sign up for a focus group will be offered a copy of the related report once it is released. Please click the link to register!

Please take a few minutes to complete this Survey for Parent Carers about Wraparound Childcare As part of the National Wraparound Childcare Programme the Department for Education, with the support of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, have developed a survey to better understand to what extent the current wraparound childcare offer for primary age children meets the needs of parents and children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). We are looking for parents of primary age children with a special educational need or disability to complete this survey. Wraparound childcare is childcare that ‘wraps around’ the conventional school day. For the purposes of this programme, we are using the term ‘wraparound childcare’ to refer to provision directly before and after the school day during school term time for primary school age children. The purpose of this survey is to improve understanding of the types of wraparound provision that parents are accessing, the reasons for this, and any barriers they have faced when trying to find childcare that meets their child’s needs. This survey will be factored into the National Wraparound Programme and support the Department for Education to understand how they can increase the inclusivity and accessibility of the programme. Link is here - https://lnkd.in/dWZtzqGb Your answer's matter ! Deadline is 29th April 2024

CITY OF CHARLESTON MAYOR’S OFFICE FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES FACILITATES SURVEYS TO ADDRESS CHILDCARE CHALLENGES CHARLESTON, SC – MARCH 28, 2024 – The City of Charleston Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth, and Families (MOCYF) is taking a proactive approach to tackle the critical challenges surrounding childcare accessibility, affordability, and continuity. Spearheading the efforts of the regional Early Learning Action Team, in collaboration with Tri-County Cradle to Career and over 15 regional organizations, MOCYF is launching comprehensive surveys aimed at both childcare providers and parents/caregivers. Hey Current Law Students, Disability in the legal field is hard to respond to because of the lack of data. As an autistic, nonbinary disabled law student, this data informs how advocacy groups like NDLSA can advocate for me. NDLSA is calling ALL disabled law students to fill out a brief survey for a chance to win one of five $20 Visa gift cards! NDLSA has partnered with Harvard Law's Dispute Systems Design Clinic to analyze the pain points disabled law students encounter before and during law school. NDLSA hopes this survey will provide us with the information necessary to develop meaningful resources for current and future law students. Please consider filling out the anonymous survey no later than Wednesday, March 27 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Survey link: https://lnkd.in/gE5kaVA2 Of course data and data privacy is critical to the survival of disabled law students. We are woefully underrepresented in the field due to the history of ableism. However, NDLSA, which is student run is collaborating with Harvard Dispute Systems Clinic to determine the pain points law students with disabilities face during their education. This is completely anonymous. Additionally, as an NDLSA rep, I have no access to your information on the data side. The third party status helps ensure you can voice your concerns openly. We will be using this information to develop guides and resources for law students and schools to create a disability inclusive law school. We strive for an end centered around disability justice.

We're going to take this #ThoughtfulThursday to draw your attention to the survey we put up on behalf of University of Regina, about why volunteers leave and what can be done to improve retention. We can't stress enough how important it is to know WHY people quit, why they opt out of returning, and what we, as nonprofits, need to be doing better, or at least have an awareness. Some reasons are beyond anyone's control. Health or financial changes can cut in on a person's ability to continue in their role with your organization. People move. People have drastic life events that may affect their volunteer hours, and that can be a new job, new baby, or, unfortunately, death or divorce. There are other situations that are within the scope of the nonprofit to address. If one or two people no longer show up, it's problematic. If you have a complete exodus, it's catastrophic. It may be awkward, but this is where an exit interview should be given. As mentioned, some things are a "them" issue. Sometimes, it's you. This calls for some self-reflection and evaluation of your operations. Unclear instructions? Personality conflicts? Unreliable hours? Underutilization of sills? Unrealistic expectations? All of these are valid reasons for someone to walk. And unfortunately, an unhappy parting can result in a negative reputation for you as a volunteer experience. If you are a former volunteer, please take a moment to do this survey. We hope to share the results when the study is done. https://buff.ly/3y0K3U5 #VolunteerRetention #WeLoveVolunteers #NonprofitLife #Survey
