4 stressfull months on board. Interview with 2nd engineer before going home. Improper vessel maintenance, and improper spares and consumables supply during many years have resulted with total tecnical chrisis and nearly loose of control over vessel Main event: 23 days stoppage in the middle of ocean. No spares for purifier made them out of order. Chief engineer has bypassed purifier and dirty fuel has destroyed fuel system. Other events: 7 emergency stoppages, 4 of them in congested waters during night time. Hard work and sleepless nights in order to keep vessel running. I would reccomend this video to spare departments and technical management of shipping companies. This is your chance to look into eyes of people by other side of your Desktop PC screen. #seafarers #shipping #technicalmanagement #shipmanagement #crewing #engineers https://lnkd.in/gtNdY-ay

🤷No team for today's work, said the teamleader. 🤷♀️Curiously, I asked why? 🤷And the teamleader explained that one client's project has been completed, with all the necessary documents signed. 👉Additionally, two other projects are nearing completion. 👉The team leader informed that an officer from one of our clients called and requested additional work to be done on the vessel for the next two days. 🧏♀️I said, 👉Inform the officer about our readiness to take on all the jobs mentioned, and request that they keep us informed ahead of time so that we can better plan our schedule. 👉Other clients' projects are also reaching completion, and it has become a daily occurrence for officers to add new jobs. 👉We have a well-organized schedule that is based on the jobs given by our clients, and we want to ensure that we can serve them in a hassle-free manner. #shipbuilding #shiprepairs #marine #marineindustry.

DECK vs ENGINE! 🤺🥷 There is a cold war that is going on for generations! (In a light way). People from Deck think that Engineers are just sleeping in the ECR and taking weekends off. 👷🏽⛑ On the other hand, Engineers say that Deck officers have nothing to do except making Coffee and Calling Engine Room for help! 👻☕️ It doesn’t matter which ship we are on, which nationality we are sailing with, this topic always has a majority. Engineers wish their lives were like Deck officers in good air conditioned Bridge and Deck Officers want to have some weekends off and escape the 6on-6off at ports! 🥵😑 In the end, both the departments are extremely important for the Ship to sail properly. It is often said that Deck Officers run the Ship and the Engineers make the ship run! ✅⛴ So bottomline, never get into this argument. ,🤣🤣🤣 MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company Maersk Line, Limited Hapag-Lloyd AG EVERGREEN LINE #seaman #lifeonboard #deckcadet #bigship #seamanlife #marineengineering #marineengineer #sailor #offshore #maerskline #maersk #maerskcrew #shipping #shiplife #merchantmarine #merchantnavy #maritime #ships #lifeofaseafarer #careeratsea #selfie #deepsea #oceanlife #containership

Keeping your vessels' FFE🔹LSA🔹Lifeboat🔹 compliant with SOLAS ⎮ Managing Director at Inglasco International Ltd.
Turn your 5-yearly LSA in anchorage into success. Ship managers often seek for multiple services during a short anchorage stay. While the job could finish in one day, there are important things for every technical superintendent to think about when planning these tasks: 🔹Davits: Most importantly, have the davits operated and checked by the crew. Nothing is more annoying than having technicians, load test equipment, etc., all onboard, and the davits are NOT working. 🔹Divers: If divers are operating in the area, lifeboat launching is PROHIBITED for their safety. 🔹Bunkering or provisions delivery: To prevent delays schedule vessel bunkering or provision activities BEFORE or AFTER the load test if they might interfere with lifeboat operations. 🔹Communication with Classification Society (CS): Clear communication with the service company and the Classification Society is vital for load test procedures. Misunderstandings with surveyors can cause TIME WASTAGE during load tests. 🔹Weather: Always take into account weather conditions too and avoid conditions that can endanger the crew and potentially DAMAGE the boat. What would you add from your experience? Let’s talk in the comments. ~~~~~ I’m Chris, with 18+ years of experience in ship safety services. Need assistance with 🧯🔥FFE/LSA, lifeboats, calibrations, or bridge electronics? Drop me a DM to discuss. #maritime #shipsandshipping #lsa #ffe #lifeboats

Keeping your vessels' FFE🔹LSA🔹Lifeboat🔹 compliant with SOLAS ⎮ Managing Director at Inglasco International Ltd.
Never fail your 5-Yearly lifeboat inspections again Smart technical superintendents always group ship services during an anchorage stay. But, managing 5-yearly inspections of lifeboats, davits, and load tests can be challenging. Yes, the job can be done in 1 day, but technical superintendents should keep these important points in mind when planning: ✔️Davits: Most importantly, have the davits operated and checked by the crew. Nothing is more annoying than having technicians, load test equipment, etc., all onboard, and the davits are not working. ✔️Divers: If divers are operating in the area, lifeboat launching is prohibited for their safety. ✔️Bunkering or provisions delivery: To prevent delays in lifeboat launching, schedule vessel bunkering or provision activities a day before or after the load test if they might interfere with lifeboat operations. ✔️Communication with Classification Society (CS): Clear communication with the service company and the Classification Society is vital for load test calculations and procedures. Misunderstandings with surveyors can cause time wastage during load tests. ✔️Weather: Wait for suitable weather and sea conditions for the test, as conducting it in poor conditions can endanger the crew and potentially damage the boat. And this is how you will NEVER fail your safety inspections when time is tight! Would you add anything? ~~~~~ I’m Chris, with 18+ years of experience in ship safety services.
