💡 Our HR Team had an amazing time at the #SHRM24 Conference in Chicago last week! From engaging speakers to unique networking opportunities, SHRM 24 never disappoints. Thanks to the SHRM team for putting on such an awesome and enriching experience! Our Human Resources Business Partner, Kyrsten Smith, said this: "From the keynote addresses to the interactive workshops, every part of the conference contributed to a fulfilling experience. Overall, attending SHRM 24 in Chicago was not only professionally beneficial, but also personally rewarding. I returned with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge that I am eager to apply in our organization. 🎉 SHRM Conference: Game-Changing Insights & Inspiration! 🙌 Hey, LinkedIn! I'm still buzzing with excitement from my first-ever SHRM conference in Las Vegas! 🙌 As an emerging talent development professional from Michigan, this experience was a complete game-changer for me. 🌟 First off, a huge shout-out to Claire Stroh, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP for her amazing session on "Elevating and Uplifting the Next Generation of HR Leaders." Claire, your insights on leveraging LinkedIn and other tips for up-and-coming HR pros like myself were pure gold! 🥇💡(and as you can see I am putting these lessons into place as we speak) Two other sessions that blew my mind: 1️⃣ "Cut Early Turnover! Seven Ways to Cut New-Hire Turnover in Half" by Dick Finnegan. As someone who is currently spearheading retention programs and onboarding improvements at my company, this session was so informative and even though he said not too, I couldn't help but take lots of notes! Dick's strategies were spot-on and I can't wait to put them into action! 🚀📉 2️⃣ "HR is Life! Making your Organization Better through the Lessons of Ted Lasso" by Michael S. Cohen (He/Him). Not only did Michael's engaging session touch on some crucial issues we should be addressing more, but he also made me want to binge-watch Ted Lasso all over again! 📺❤️ (If you haven't seen it yet, trust me, it's a must-watch!) I just left the conference feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to make a real difference in the world of HR. 💪 I'm so grateful for the connections I made and the knowledge I gained. Definitely looking to keep this going! So, my fellow HR enthusiasts, I would love to connect more! Share your favorite conference moments, the speakers who left a lasting impact, or the TV shows that inspire your work in HR. 📺💬 I'm all ears and excited to learn from you! 😊 #SHRM #HR #TedLasso #RetentionStrategies #ElevatingHR #MichiganTalent #SHRMTalent

#HRCommunity - We're only 17 days away from the 2024 SHRM Annual Conference and Expo in Chicago! If you're still waffling, here are 5 reasons to attend: 1) Professional Development - YOU are in the driver's seat of your career. You don't have to wait for your employer to support your goals. Take charge. 4 days, 12 professional tracks, over 375 sessions, and over 400 speakers = 28 PDCs. 2) Continuous Learning - The line up of speakers this year is really incredible. A lot of new (and familiar) faces, with a broad set of topics that apply to all HR pros - regardless of how new or seasoned you are, and regardless of your level/title. There is something for everyone! 3) Networking with your peers - 25,000 of your #HRPeers will be in attendance. What an amazing opportunity to mingle, get to know those who are in similar roles and similar industries. Iron sharpens iron! 4) Chicago - This is one of my favorite cities. There is so much to do and see, and the conference venue (McCormick Place) is very nicely laid out and easy to navigate. Take advantage of your evening time to do some sightseeing, try out the famous Chicago-style pizza (so freakin' yummy) and/or all of the other Chicago-style culinary experiences. (Tip: DO NOT put ketchup on a Chicago Dog. Just don't.) 5) Acquaintances turned life-long friends - One of my most favorite aspects of the annual conference is getting to see people that sometimes I don't get to see but once a year. Virtual connections are great. But those in-person connections are even better. Some of my closest friends have come from the relationships built right here. Hope to see you there! As HR professionals, we're always looking to develop our skills and stay on top of the latest trends two major players in the HR world are CIPD and SHRM. But what's the difference between these two certifications? CIPD stands for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is based in the UK. SHRM is the Society for Human Resource Management and is US based. Both offer training, conferences, networking, and research. Some key differences: 1- CIPD focuses more on public policy advocacy while SHRM leans more into HR best practices and tools. 2- CIPD champions reflective practice while SHRM is more prescriptive. 3-CIPD has a broader reach beyond HR like organization development and consulting. SHRM is laser-focused on HR professionals. No matter which you align with, becoming certified HR is so valuable because you will expand your network, get access to the latest research, and become a better HR practitioner. So get yours ASAP 👌🏾
