It's been a busy time, and an exciting one, for our client Athletes.org (AO), a fast-growing players association for college athletes. Last month, University of Notre Dame invited AO to campus, where AO’s leadership talked with current ND athletes across several sports over a two-day window. They discussed the implications of the House v. NCAA settlement proposal and other issues related to the historic labor movement in college sports.   Then AO was mentioned in the House settlement proposal itself. Q) What are your personal hobbies? ⭐A) Traveling, reading, and all types of puzzles. Q) What is your all time favorite band or musician? ⭐A) My favorite musician is Bob Seger. Q) Give a fun fact about yourself! ⭐A) A fun fact about me is I've ridden in a bi-plane. Q) Why do you feel the FCRO's mission is important? ⭐A) I feel that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive in their environment. The recommendations made by the FCRO help the children and families within the foster care system access services they need to improve their lives. Q) What do you consider your greatest accomplishment or what is the most rewarding part of your work? ⭐A) Successful reunification of families and adoption into a new family are the most rewarding aspects of this work. It's also rewarding to see positive progress for the ongoing cases, especially when the past has been extremely traumatic for these children.

For all the budding entrepreneurs, this can be a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of Silicon Valley (Stanford's d.school). I was a participant of this program in 2019 (then, it was called the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy). And during this program, I decided to shut down my last startup, that I had been working on for more than a year. Multiple startup events, competitions (several of which we won), and accelerator programs couldn't teach me what I learnt here in 10 weeks. Things like, what really matters in a founding team, frameworks of innovation thinking and exposure to what is already possible in the world. On top of it, I have also gained some great friends, across different cultures, through this program. I attended the annual Toward a More Competitive #Colorado (TMCC) event, hosted by Metro Denver EDC, in the company of my colleagues from our Avison Young office. High-level insights were shared from the 2024 TMCC Report and 2024 Economic Forecast for Metro Denver. Combined, both reports unpack the data highlighting Colorado's ability to compete for corporate attraction and business development. Takeaways include: 🔬 Continued expansion in aerospace, bioscience, and the healthcare industries. 🎒 Colorado maintains a highly educated workforce, yet there are opportunities to cultivate local talent and improve graduation rates. 📈 We're in the preliminary stages of an affordability crunch with home prices in the Denver MSA more than doubling between 2014 and 2022. 🏔 The vibrant lifestyle embedded in Colorado's culture has resulted in a population that surpasses national health standards. A certification from the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) is not an easy task. I have studied governance (failed one test!) of companies based on USA regulations and best practices and appreciated how they apply globally, and size doesn't really matter on the below topics: - ESG - Environment Social and Governance - Regulatory shifts and strategic implications - Risk Management - Cybersecurity - Talent Recruitment are all challenges on the agenda of the boards of any company, being public in USA, or medium and small size in Europe.
