“One of the most fulfilling aspects of my professional journey is mentoring others. Guiding diverse, brilliant minds is not just the right move; it's a commitment to the future of our cities and the individuals who will mold them. As our team at Northcrest transforms a portion of Toronto’s north, we do so with a devout commitment to nurture the next generation of city-builders who will continue this journey long after us”.

Embracing the Power of Teamwork: Lessons from a Majestic Pelican Formation
At the heart of bustling London, amidst the serene beauty of St. James Park, I recently had the privilege of witnessing a remarkable gathering that left an enduring impression on my understanding of teamwork and collaboration. A congregation of pelicans, gracefully navigating the tranquil waters of the park’s lake, offered profound insights into the power of unity and diversity.
Reflecting on this captivating scene, I was reminded of the timeless wisdom that nature imparts about the importance of working together towards a common purpose. Just as the pelicans rely on each other for companionship and safety, so too do we thrive when we join forces and collaborate towards shared goals.
In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, where challenges often require collective effort to overcome, the lessons of the pelican gathering resonate more strongly than ever. By embracing the principles of unity, cooperation, and mutual support, we can navigate the complexities of life with greater resilience and effectiveness.
The pelican gathering serves as a powerful reminder that strength lies in unity. When individuals come together with a shared vision and a willingness to support one another, remarkable things can be accomplished. By harnessing the strength of our collective
What steps will you take today to embrace unity and collaboration in your own life and community? Join me in taking action and making a difference. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. #teamwork#leadership#workculture

Getting involved was something I sucked at.
When I started in Multifamily everybody told me the same thing.
“Get involved”
I always kept that piece of advice close to my industry and until recently I hadn’t applied it to my life.
Turns out, if something works once, it may work again 😂
“Getting involved” in my personal life has been one of my most proud accomplishments in the last few years.
2 Years ago I was:
- Working
- Spending time with friends & fam.
- Filling 100% of my extra time with golf or cooking.
Now I do all of that still, but divy up that extra time between:
- Member/Admin assisting for Tara "The Multifamily Mentor Matchmaker" Samuels, CAS ‘s Mentorship group.
- Sitting on the Bay Area Apartment Association’s Emerging Leaders Committee.
- Advising GTM for Spray Away Tampa Bay
- Running a full time rental and an Airbnb.
- Speaking to other orgs about sales here and there.
- Connecting with fellow industry folks.
And I’ve never been happier 😊
This industry proved itself right…. Again!!!!
-
Happy Thursday y’all, this is the TRUE hump day because the additional energy you press into the end of the week won’t bear fruit until the following.
Now GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!!!
This shirt is from something else I got involved with recently called The Heights Classic, a for-charity golf tournament my local course puts on annually. We did not win lol
Winning team had a 56….. do with that info what you wish.

At Elevate Indianapolis, we have 7 Core Beliefs that fuel our programs:
1 - We believe that EVERY CHILD is of great worth and has the desire and potential to succeed.
2 - We believe that LONG-TERM, 24/7 RELATIONSHIPS with caring adults have proven positive outcomes in the lives of our urban youth.
3 - We believe that a HOLISTIC approach is essential for a strong and healthy future for our youth.
4- We believe that FULL-TIME, SALARIED TEACHER-MENTORS WHO COME FROM SIMILAR BACKGROUNDS as the students can have a positive influence and make all the difference.
5- We believe that SERVANT LEADERSHIP, creating a culture of selflessness and service, is the foundation for leadership.
6- We believe in the intrinsic DIGNITY of every person and act accordingly.
7- We believe that COLLABORATION yields the best long-term results, acknowledging that the complex work in our urban centers cannot be done single handedly.

Leadership Coach & Business Consultant | Strategist | Operations Executive
Passionate about leading and coaching teams, crafting strategic plans, and cultivating organizational culture to drive change and growth.
Last weekend I headed to Port Townsend to find the rare red-footed booby that ended up in Western Washington where it isn't supposed to be. I watched it successfully fish in Admiralty Inlet and then join the Heerman's gulls on the roof of the Marine Science Center to take a little rest. I keep thinking about how nicely it seems to fit in and how transferable that is to our own lives—how we, too, can find our place and thrive even in unexpected environments.
In our professional lives, we sometimes find ourselves in situations where we don’t fit the usual mold. Maybe it’s a different industry, a new role, or a team where our background is unique. But it’s in these moments that our differences become our greatest strengths.
Fitting in doesn’t mean losing your identity or conforming to expectations. It’s about recognizing the value you bring and how it complements the existing team. By staying true to yourself and embracing your distinctiveness, you can contribute in ways that others might not have imagined, driving innovation and opening new paths for success.
So, if you find yourself where you weren’t expected to be, take it as an opportunity. Your unique perspective could be exactly what the team needs to soar to new heights.

👆 4 reasons to join me and Lola Rain at the #seniorliving Purpose Retreat at MEA in September.
Senior living is a real estate and healthcare business that is fueled by people.
💖 People living, working, experiencing, selling, learning, changing, growing, grieving, trying, failing, winning, managing, getting sick, getting well, doing their best, giving up, getting up, falling down, making a difference, wondering if they matter, wondering who cares...
How do we support their wellness? Their well-being, job satisfaction, life satisfaction? How do we create #environments and #rituals that support their basic human psychological needs and self-determination so they can keep going through all of this life stuff?
A significant answer is ✨ purpose infusion.
GUIDE them connect with meaning and joy in your community.
✨ More than a work fuel, purpose is a life fuel that creates flourishing. Purposeful people are more likely to be resilient in every aspect of their daily lives. They bring their purpose to work with intention IF they can define it--and then share it effortlessly and meaningful because this is what human nature compels.
How are you helping your people (residents and employees) define their purpose so they can channel it into your community?
Learn how at the Retreat. Hope to see you there ✨ ✨

Day 17 - "HOW HAS BEING A MENTOR OR BRIDGEBUILDER FOR OTHERS IMPACTED YOUR CAREER?"
I have mixed emotions about this question.
The truth is, I didn't start Tegeler Construction & Supply with any intention of being a mentor. I simply wanted to start and build a great company with great people, while positively impacting as many people and communities as possible...
....and because of that, I have had the good fortune of being put into mentorship positions. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to be in those positions and thus, do feel a sense of responsibility to assume and fulfill that role. I also understand the importance of mentorship given the massive amount of gratitude and respect for all of those that mentored me along the way.
Yet, I still am not "trying" to be a mentor nor do I think I necessarily am one, or should be one. All I can do and want to do is show up as the best version of me for myself and for everyone else, which means doing whatever it takes to optimize and maximize every ounce of my personal potential. That's what I can commit to. Certainly I hope it serves as a positive example, help, and/or inspiration for others, but that is out of my control.
I think most of us have figured out by now that there truly is no greater joy or reward in business, than being able to help, inspire, motivate and connect others. I get FAR more out of giving than I do receiving. That extends way beyond work; it's what life is ALL about.
