National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity for all Australians to learn more about First Nations people and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Northern Star is proud to support NAIDOC Week 2024 with a number of events across our Australian Operations. To acknowledge and celebrate the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and contractors across our business, we share the following employee profiles that provide an insight into what NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud,’ means to them.

This year’s NAIDOC Week will again celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with the theme of “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud”. ANZSOG acknowledges the importance of NAIDOC Week as a celebration which honours First Nations peoples and reminds us of the importance of our own journey to become a culturally competent organisation, making a positive contribution to First Nations policy and public administration. Held across Australia from 7-14 July 2024, this year’s NAIDOC Week recognises the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire as a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In NAIDOC week, and throughout the year, ANZSOG stands with the First Nations of Australia and supports aspirations for a just and equitable relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, and for First Nations communities to have control over their own lives. Despite the progress we have made, there are still many structural and cultural changes that need to happen within public services to make this a reality, and we are proud that ANZSOG is working to help make those changes happen.

It's NAIDOC week, and this year's theme is Keep the Fire Burning: Blak, Loud, and Proud. This years theme focuses on celebrating the cultural resilience of First Nations people, their profound connection to the land and traditions, and their pride in their First Nation identity. "It embodies our purpose, calling us to celebrate and honour the strength and vitality of our cultures." As an organisation, we have been putting to task the recommendations from NAIDOC - here’s three things you can do: - Check your local council for events: https://lnkd.in/dexeVKVM - If you cannot attend an in-person event, here are other ways to participate: Follow and engage with First Nations creators online, attend online events, and watch movies and shows featuring First Nations stories. Learn the traditional names of the land you live on and its owners. - Follow, like and share some cool people who are posting interesting content, here are some of our favourite current and upcoming leaders: https://lnkd.in/gy8U6aks https://lnkd.in/gfmX8dD5 https://lnkd.in/g3_q2HB #NAIDOC24 #BLAK #keepthefireburning #impactinvesting #indigenousknowledges

The Kleinfelder team took time to acknowledge NAIDOC week and the importance of celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The team participated in events to learn more about First Nations culture, investigated and presented ways to promote and foster increased Indigenous participation in our industry, and incorporated conscious supply changes to our business. All with the aim of learning how to be the best ally we can be. This NAIDOC week we at Kleinfelder continue to make conscious focused changes and challenge ourselves to learn and do more; for we believe even today’s smaller deliberate changes can become the instinctive strides forward of tomorrow. #NAIDOC2024

🌟 Empowering Future Leaders with Enfants du Mekong! 🌟 We are thrilled to share that Moore GSiA recent CSR event, in partnership with Enfants du Mekong, was a resounding success! 🎉 We had the pleasure of hosting about twenty students from diverse communities for a day of inspiration and learning. The morning was dedicated to equipping these future professionals with essential skills: job search strategies, resume building, interview preparation, personal budget management, and enhancing English proficiency. A special highlight of the day with our CEO, Manuel Ollivier, who made a commitment to Gaëtan Delattre for a spot financial contribution to support Enfants du Mekong impactful work and reinforcing Moore GSiA dedication to community development. 🏦 The afternoon brought a fun twist with a lively table tennis tournament, fostering connections and joy among the participants. 🏓🏓 This initiative underscores Moore GSiA commitment to people development and community care, aligning perfectly with Moore Global social ambition. 🪶 As NAIDOC Week wraps up, it's been heartwarming to see so many big companies showing support with smoking ceremonies, dances, and cupcakes. However, real change begins at the core of business culture. Beyond the NAIDOC Week festivities, how many of these companies are truly committed to "Closing the Gap"? It's essential to ask: - How many have initiatives supporting the First Nations communities directly or entrepreneurs to build businesses to support the community? - How many provide work experience placements and career pathways for First Nations people? How many invest in truth-telling and cultural competency/engagement training? NAIDOC Week should indeed be celebrated, but it's also a prime opportunity to push harder for equity and inclusion. There's a long way to go, and it's time for businesses to walk the talk. Let’s strive for genuine, year-round commitment to supporting First Nations communities. #NAIDOCWeek #ClosingTheGap #RealChange #EquityAndInclusion #SupportIndigenousCommunities #TruthTelling #CulturalCompetency #BeyondTokenism

During National NAIDOC Week, people all across Australia are celebrating the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The theme for this year's NAIDOC Week is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud" which celebrates the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture. It's important to recognise the resilience, strength, and contributions of Indigenous people to our society. The fire symbolises the connection to Country, each other and traditions. Honouring this flame ignites pride and unity, reaffirming our commitment to acknowledge, preserve, and share the cultural heritage that enriches our nation. For SW Accountants & Advisors, NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to reflect further on our own journey towards reconciliation and to consider ways in which we can better support and engage with Indigenous communities. Some of the areas we are committed to include increasing supplier diversity, and promoting cultural awareness and understanding for a safe workplace. This week our Perth and Sydney offices will be celebrating NAIDOC Week by hosting smoking ceremonies outside their office buildings. As we mark NAIDOC Week, let's celebrate the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures and the contributions of Indigenous people to our society. Let's also commit ourselves to ongoing education, advocacy, and action towards a more just and equitable future for all. Whether you're attending an event, reading a book by an Indigenous author, or simply taking a moment to reflect, there are many ways to be a part of NAIDOC Week. Let's continue to work together towards a better future. #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC2024 #ReconciliationActionPlan #BlakLoudProud Kate Morhi Amanda Lee David Meagher Maeve Cahill Taylah Cooke Richard Gregson Steve Allan Duane Rogers Tim Stillwell Steven Edmonds Abi Chellapen Sam Morris Rami Eltchelebi Hayley Underwood Nick Michael Vikas Nahar, CFA John Dorazio Bessie Yang ZHANG Matt Birrell Sangeeta Venkatesan Greg Will Stephen O'Flynn Hayley Mahony
