It was a (humbling) delight to receive an email from Goods For Good last week, penned by their CEO Rosalind Bluestone MBE, reflecting on their ten years of making an impact. This amazing charity goes above and beyond to support vulnerable individuals across the world - the scope of what they do cannot be done justice in a few words here! We believe in a sustainable world where all human beings have the vital everyday goods they need to thrive." We've supported Goods for Good for a number of years, and continue to donate 10% of all entry fees from our Humanitarian Response Champions category. This category looks to highlight the best in humanity’s response to crisis; ones which can inspire others and set an example of how people can come together in the face of adversity for basic human rights and the common good. A new report by Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) says it best: "Meeting basic needs alone is not enough for people to thrive. They need to be able to connect with others, have choices and opportunities and feel included in society." This is the essence of the work we do with our network of food banks around #NorthLondon. By asking them what they need each week, we can better provide for their guests and offer as much choice as possible. Today is World Water Day. In the UK, we often take water for granted as it is readily available. However, there are still 2.2 billion people around the world who do not have access to safely managed drinking water. This includes 115 million people who drink surface water, which is often dirty and unsafe. These individuals have to spend hours each day walking to find water and then drink and wash in unsanitary conditions. On this day, let's spare a thought for those who are less fortunate and do not have access to clean water. If possible, consider donating to organizations such as UNICEF, who are working towards providing access to clean water for people in need. #WorldWaterDay #CleanWaterForAll #UNICEF #DonateToMakeADifference

Significant progress has been made but incremental improvements simply aren’t enough. The problem is overwhelming, the answer is complex, but we believe the global water crisis CAN be solved.
