Patient care during a physician move With over two decades of experience as a surgical oncologist, the physician had dedicated his career to a hospital-based practice. However, the pandemic prompted him to reassess his professional setting, leading him to relocate an hour away to join a new hospital system. This transition was unfortunately mishandled by his previous employer, who, rather than updating his status, inaccurately listed him online as "permanently closed." This miscommunication had a direct impact on his patients, who, upon searching for him online, were met with confusion and concern, unable to locate their trusted doctor. Those who attempted to contact his former practice were simply informed of his departure, with an offer to replace the irreplaceable: a surgeon who may have been a constant in their challenging journey through cancer treatment. From a patient's perspective, this situation is particularly distressing. In the midst of treatment, or when a deep trust and rapport have been established with a healthcare provider, especially one as crucial as a surgical oncologist, the ability to continue that care with the chosen physician is paramount. The disruption of this continuity not only affects the logistics of care but also impacts the emotional and psychological support that is so vital during such a vulnerable time. According to the Saint Luke's Health System Introduce yourself or have your loved one introduce you to their team. The team could include 1 provider or several, depending on the treatment your loved one is having. It might include a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, and surgeon, among others. Keep a list of the team members’ names and titles. Know who to call for specific questions and keep an open line of communication with them. Building trust will make the harder conversations and choices easier. Attend appointments with your loved one. If your loved one says it’s OK, go to their appointments with them. Your loved one should do most of the talking, but you can ask your own questions. Take notes for your loved one on all upcoming treatments, side effects, procedures, and diagnoses. These appointments can be overwhelming. Having an extra set of ears can be helpful. Ask the healthcare provider to repeat or explain anything that may be confusing. The 2 of you can review notes later and then follow up with the healthcare team if you have any questions. #QualityofLifeHomeCarellc #HomeCare #getpaidtotakecareofloveones #philadelphiahomecare #PatientAdvocacy #HealthcareAdvocacy #DoctorAppointment #PatientRights #EmpoweredPatient

Tired of duplicate entries on problem lists? Learn how Ozarks Healthcare partnered with IMO Health to simplify problem list management, reduce redundancies, and boost provider engagement. Here's my favorite quote from the case study: “In the inpatient setting, when those moments matter – when a patient codes on the floor – I can quickly see what diagnoses that person has by jumping straight to those cardiopulmonary and kidney sections. Everything I need to know I can get in a matter of seconds rather than having to invest that brain energy to sort out what is always a convoluted mess. It’s suddenly not convoluted anymore.” - Priscilla A Frase, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer at Ozarks Healthcare Read more: https://bit.ly/3zfvxsA #HealthTech #ClinicalEfficiency #ProblemListOptimization

Why Are So Many Physicians Leaving Private Practice? Private practices were once a path to autonomy & deep patient relationships But now… They are seen as an unsustainable model "So, what changed, Dr. Ravi? 🤔" → Physician burnout → Administrative & regulatory burdens. → Lack of work-life balance → Declining reimbursements → Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) issues And with all this Physicians started feeling more like administrators than doctors with the duty to heal their patients! But no matter how big the hurdles are, private practice is still viable! It’s still an option to consider. You simply need the right support system! And that’s the main intent behind building VaQya LLC… We want to help physicians: – reclaim their time – reduce burnout issues – keep their practices profitable Let’s bid adieu to physicians leaving private practices! We will empower them to continue their venture. Why do you think are physicians leaving private practices? 🤔 (Check out the 1st comment for a link to the Success Stories of 7 Physician Private Practices!) #privatepractice #physicians #medicalbilling #rcm
