We collaborated with Babcock International Group to assist their investigation into how technology can be utilized to support the future of military driver training 🚗 The investigation focus was on how military drivers need to be prepared for a wide range of situations, which could prove difficult to replicate, and how technology could be used to simulate these unique circumstances during training. We provided the hardware for this research project, using the expertise and experience we've applied in previous projects for the defence sector, such as our state-of-the-art RHIB simulator, which we presented at DSET last year ⛵ Read more to see how we assisted Babcock's research efforts: https://hubs.ly/Q02sz0rT0 #Novatech #Babcock #MilitaryTechnology #Simulation #TechCollaboration

Babcock has announced it is to invest in a research and development project to support the future of military driver training. Military drivers need to be prepared for a wide range of situations, which can be difficult to replicate, for example, how to respond to a tyre blow out, varying terrains, driving at night or in foreign countries with unknown road signs. Babcock has signed an agreement with VRAI, Novatech and Bohemia to investigate how technology can be used to create training environments at scale which are focussed on the user experience, insight intensive and can be used to train quickly, effectively and reach competence at accelerated rates. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/gjhAjRGv

This is a hugely valuable research project, intended to drive insight which goes beyond just the use of simulation. Purposefully focused on defence and resilience end users, we have a number of key questions and customer challenges we intend to answer on behalf of those communities. Watch this space for exciting updates as the project progresses. #babcock #babcocktraining #defence #resilience #training #data #research #drivertraining #simulation

Investing in the ongoing skilling and training of aviators is fundamental to the successful sustainment and implementation of new capabilities as part of a joint force. As mission aviator numbers grow, there is no better time to enhance training approaches from initial to advanced levels of mastery. An integrated training solution that systematically addresses technical, operational, and organisational priorities in advance, will unlock new training potential for the next generation of mission aviators. What's "Ready Relevant Learning"? Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) provides the mechanism to modernize The US Navy's institutional training system. RRL is a long-term investment in improving individual Sailor performance and enhancing fleet readiness with three major components that address the WHEN, HOW and WHERE we train. First, the WHEN. RRL delivers the right training at the right time in the right way so that Sailors are ready to operate their equipment at the extreme technical end of its capability to win the high-end fight. RRL delivers training at the most appropriate time in a Sailor’s career. That learning continuum does not stop at today’s “A” school – it includes training that targets each operational tour throughout a Sailors’ career, as opposed to the recent past’s “one and done” approach. Second, the HOW. RRL leverages training technology that ranges from simple visual demonstration tools such as YouTube-like videos to more complex, immersive simulators and virtual trainers. These modern tools increase the number of training "reps and sets" a Sailor can perform and build upon muscle memory before actually interacting with physical equipment or systems. RRL shifts our focus from rote memorization to “hands on” performance-based fundamentals and in many instances will build “experience” within a modern training environment. Lastly, the WHERE. At its conclusion, RRL will deliver modernized training material to the actual point of need. That means training that will be resident on the waterfront, flight line and eventually available on our afloat units. RRL is a tremendous modernization effort, requiring collaboration across multiple stakeholders throughout the Navy, all in the interest of meeting future fleet requirements. At its core, RRL is about creating more proficient and technically capable Sailors as they head to operational fleet units. #usnavy #navyrrl #rigidtacticalvb Photo by Brian Walsh

Advanced Aircrew Academy's International Procedures Worldwide Initial curriculum is a broad and comprehensive training package that prepares you to operate around the world. It includes approximately 21 hours of training material, but we can tailor the curriculum to meet your needs. The FAA authorizes Advanced Aircrew Academy for a Training Statement of Compliance (TSOC), which allows our training modules to meet the streamlined Part 91 LOA training requirements for B036, B039, B046, and B054. Our Worldwide International Procedures training consists of multiple online modules to create a training curriculum. The NBAA Management Guide (section 2.4) not only recommends advanced flight crew training above and beyond the regulatory requirements of the FAA as a best practice, but it specifically cites our International Procedures training. This recognition from NBAA reassures you that our training satisfies their high standards and best practices. The DoD's ability to test and field is here again putting the warfighter at risk by running from program risk. With Boeing's approach to thinly bid the EMD/procurement of a number of major contracts, I would expect challenges in timelines and budgets. If the math doesn't add up, the CEO in charge of those quarterly reports will look to trim where trimming will hurt. He won't get judged by the quarterly reports 10 years from now when the programs are profitable. What is more concerning is jointly our inability to field on time. Digital engineering--one of the backbone selling points of the T-7--should be making design, test and production easier now, and sustainment cheaper in the years to come. Are we doing it wrong, or are the wrong old dogs trying to learn new tricks unsuccessfully? The SR-71 became operational 13 months after first flight. The T-38 entered service less than 2 years after first flight. The A-10's first flight was 5 years before it became operational. F-16 was even quicker. And most of those aircraft were designed with slide rules and old-school material testing. Somebody needs to break the phalanx, get away from buzzwords, and find a path to success. #digitalengineering #acquisition #AirPower #t7 #t38 #aetc

BS of the week - FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Course operators trying to lure in $ by advertising: Dispatcher 'Requalification' or 'Recertification' or the ultra-bogus 're-licensing' Courses. The permanent FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate has no expiration date. Unless surrendered, suspended or revoked, your FAA AD Certificate is valid. If you want to be "refreshed or updated" on the latest material, the school you attended should allow you FREE in-classroom and/or FREE online training, reviews, etc..then your airline training will specifically train you via basic indoctrination and initial training based on their operation. Be careful; there are plenty of 'operators' around. Eric Morris - President- Sheffield School of Aeronautics (est. 1948)
