On Tuesday, Friends of Novaya Gazeta Europe, a Swiss-based non-profit association, held its second annual board meeting, where its members unanimously approved all the board’s proposals. 💬 During the meeting, Novaya Gazeta Europe CEO Maria Epifanova spoke of the difficulties Novaya Europe has faced since being declared an “undesirable organisation” last June. “It’s important for us to know that we are not alone. That at least here, in Europe, we are ‘desirable’. This is why your support is so important for us,” Epifanova said. Despite its “undesirable” status, Novaya Europe has published numerous reports and investigations documenting the effect the war has had on people in Russia and those in the occupied territories, Epifanova added. 💬 Arnold Khachaturov, head of the Novaya Europe data department, spoke of finding the right balance between data-based journalism and human-interest stories, which Novaya has always prided itself on. 💬 Daniel Thüler, president of the association, thanked its members for their support of Novaya Gazeta Europe, helping to make sure it continues its work even from exile. Attention all grassroots non-profit leaders and founders! The recent tragic deaths of journalists in Gaza underlines a pressing issue. Their loss is not just an 'attack on the truth' but it also deeply affects the non-profit sector. We count on these brave reporters to amplify our causes and the voices of those we serve. This deeply impacts our ability to raise awareness and garner support. Yet, we share a commonality with these journalists – an unyielding pursuit of truth, and a dedication to serving those in need. We resonate with their courage, reminding us of our vital mission to give hope daily. Though we face challenges, it’s our determination and drive that help us connect, share stories, and inspire change. Do we need to rethink our marketing strategies in light of these events? Are there budding questions about how to best tell our stories? You're not alone. Let's continue the discussion below. Let's #StayInspired, #GiveHopeDaily, and #EmpowerChange, through our #NonProfitLeadership. Keep connecting, keep sharing, and keep being the change you wish to see. #NonProfitMarketing #MarketingSolutions.

As we approach the EOFY, we are asking individuals, businesses and trusts to please consider donating to Dart Centre Asia Pacific. Each donation will assist us in supporting journalists and media workers across the Asia Pacific region through the provision of psychosocial education and training and wellbeing support. Why does this matter? Because good journalism matters to the community. It's not just so we have something entertaining to scroll through on our social media feeds or read with our morning bowl of cereal. Our democracy relies on it. It exposes wrongdoing and injustice, it scrutinises people in power, and it bears witness to both devastation and celebration. Now, more than ever, we need properly sourced, robustly researched journalism. But online violence towards journalists is a growing threat to good journalism, and journalist wellbeing is being impacted by constant exposure to traumatic stories, especially war, conflict, and disaster. During this time of cumulative, unrelenting trauma, please help us support those who keep us informed. Please use the QR code below or the following link to donate today: https://lnkd.in/gcW2V5RC

Independent, rigorous, local journalism is the lifeblood of an informed and engaged community. It shines a light on important issues, holds power to account, and helps citizens make informed decisions about their lives and their communities. In our rapidly changing media landscape, supporting quality local news has never been more crucial. Salish Current is a nonpartisan, nonprofit online news organization serving Whatcom, San Juan, and Skagit counties. With a commitment to fact-based reporting and a focus on local government, public health, the environment, and social justice, Salish Current fills a vital need for in-depth, independent journalism in our region. Their team of experienced reporters and editors work hard to bring important stories to light, fostering a more informed and connected community. And this month, they are the recipient of our Community Shopping Days donations. There are two ways you can support Salish Current while shopping at the Co-op : • 2% Saturdays: Shop with us this Saturday, Oct. 19. We’ll donate 2% of the day’s sales directly to Salish Current. • Donate the Difference: Through October, round up your purchase at the register. 100% of these donations go to Salish Current. As comms lead for a mission driven organization, it's been a great 36 hours connecting with association peers to discuss best practices...and our oh-so-common similar challenges at Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) non-profit conference. Great presenters like Alise Isbell, Sheri Singer, Sherri Kirk, Cayce Myers, Ph.D., LL.M., J.D., APR, Katie Lundy, Michael Cherenson, APR, Fellow PRSA and Mark McGrath. Insightful takeaways to bring back to the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association about language, strategy, and the current state of the #DEI discussion. My favorite quip: "to be situationally aware, we must be self-aware." Good advice to help advance #HBAimpact.

Here’s how The Mazzini Garibaldi Charitable Foundation is dedicated to supporting both the Italian community 🇮🇹 and the general public in the UK: ‣ Advancing education in literature, science, and art through various means such as lectures, classes, examinations, as well as offering bursaries and scholarships. Additionally, we focus on promoting the Italian language and culture. ‣ Providing financial assistance and support to convalescent and residential care homes, hospitals, infirmaries, and other charitable institutions. ‣ Assisting individuals of Italian descent residing in the UK who are facing hardship or distress either on a general scale or through individual support. ‣ Promoting equality, diversity, and good relations by fostering education, awareness, and mutual understanding among individuals from different countries, with a particular emphasis on bridging the gap between the British and Italian communities. ‣ Creating and enhancing recreation and leisure opportunities to improve the lives of those in need due to factors such as youth, age, infirmity, financial hardship, or challenging social and economic circumstances.
