Happy International Women's Day 💙 Today, we celebrate all the fantastic women at VEED and our dedication to supporting and uplifting women in practice, not just words. Here's what our team has been working on 👇 Female representation at VEED: • Women make up 39% of our workforce at VEED (vs tech avg of 27%) • Women make up 45% of management roles at VEED (vs tech avg of 28%) • 38% of women at VEED are in senior-level roles • Our Exec Team is 40% female Key initiatives: • Introduced a compensation, job architecture, and performance evaluation framework with a specific focus on pay equity. • Launched the Gather events series: in-person events for the London tech community that provide networking, inspiration, and education. • Contracted with Otta: a sourcing and employer branding platform with a strong focus on diversity. • Implemented Total Jobs Gender Bias Decoder tool to review all VEED job postings • Rolled out new hiring practices and training for all hiring managers and interviewers - including specific training on spotting and removing bias from the evaluation processes • Launched Equity for All, ensuring all employees receive a share in the company and that grants are allocated consistently and equitably across functions/roles. • Deliberate and continued investment in bringing in experienced female leadership at the executive level. While dissecting the persistent underrepresentation of women in tech, it's crucial to identify the systemic barriers hindering their full participation, including gender bias and stereotypes, lack of representation, and work-life balance struggles. By acknowledging and addressing these systemic barriers, we can begin to dismantle the obstacles preventing women from fully participating and thriving in the engineering & tech industry. As part of our Breaking Barriers: Impact of Women in Engineering and Technology series, we asked Ana Figueiredo, RAN Engineer at Cyient, “How do you see the future of women in technology developing over the next five to ten years?” In her response, she said, “I believe that companies, governments, and institutions will implement policies that support work-life balance, parental leave, and equal pay, making the tech industry more attractive and accessible to women.” At Cyient, we foster a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusivity.
