By using a donor-advised fund (DAF) to manage giving, donors can support a range of causes worldwide and make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Here are examples of how grants from our DAF donors are supporting women’s rights and empowerment in the UK and around the world. #Philanthropy #Grantmaking

There is a significant gap in philanthropic funding for feminist activists in the United States. Even though women and girls make up more than half of the country's population, less than 2% of philanthropic funding goes to organizations serving them. At Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism, we mobilize resources to women, trans, and non-binary activists who are at risk and aim to protect their rights. We call on other funders to act now and get more resources to feminists who are moving the needle on some of the most pressing social justice issues of our time. https://lnkd.in/gRv-4rPm

Over two decades of dedicated experience, I excel in providing comprehensive administrative and project management support, and successful collaboration with diverse audiences to achieve organizational goals efficiently.
Boards come of age We’ve seen progress over the years in gender diversity: today 47% of positions are filled by women (up to 70% in social services organizations). But racial diversity on boards lags behind, with only 10% of positions today filled by members of racialized groups (only 3% in environmental charities). #nonprofits #charitablegiving #diversity

Philanthropic giving by individuals, institutions and public foundations around the world totaled approximately $810bn in 2022, a huge redistribution of financial resources with the potential to shape and transform the lives of millions. Whether establishing new educational and healthcare programs, supporting climate initiatives and conservation, donating to religious or cultural interests, funding local charities, advancing vaccine research, driving gender equality or addressing social vulnerabilities recently amplified by the pandemic and new regional conflicts, the array of benevolent causes and the scale of activity underline the critical role of philanthropy in an increasingly volatile world - https://bit.ly/49aWsBx

How does philanthropy impact global challenges? Philanthropy significantly impacts global challenges by forming effective , public-private partnerships, addressing issues like climate change, SRHR and infrastructure needs. It goes beyond funding, actively shaping sustainable practices and influencing policies to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Philanthropy also leverages AI to enhance donor engagement, optimize operations, and amplify impact while ensuring ethical application and preserving core values.

It's time to be ruthlessly strategic in our philanthropic support of movements to build a just democracy. This political moment calls for a comprehensive philanthropic strategy that protects marginalized communities from physical and political attacks while building the economic, cultural, and political power we need to create a future where we all can thrive. I designed the Courageous Giving Framework to guide funding institutions and individual donors as they respond to the rise of fascism. Love and compassion, plus strategy and infrastructure, will build the world that we all deserve. #philanthropy #nonprofits #trustbasedphilanthropy #socialjusticephilanthropy https://lnkd.in/eERV-cBv

Join HOPE for Give to Women and Girls Day 2024, a powerful initiative dedicated to amplifying support for women's and girls' causes! 🌸 Since 2019, the Women's Philanthropy at Indiana University Institute (WPI) has revealed that less than 2% of U.S. philanthropic funding goes to these essential efforts, and we are committed to changing that! 💪 At HOPE, we believe that when women and girls thrive, entire communities flourish. Let’s work together to close the funding gap! Visit our cause page at Every.org/latinas to learn how you can make a difference. ✨ On October 8, the WPI released its latest Women & Girls Index, tracking a decade of charitable giving to organizations focused on women and girls in the U.S. 📊 This report reveals that philanthropic support for women’s and girls’ organizations surpassed $10 billion for the first time in 2021. Key highlights include a remarkable 60.9% growth in funding for women’s civil rights and a 26.5% increase in government grants to these groups, outpacing other sectors. To learn more, visit equitablegivinglab.org/WGI! 📈 While we’ve made progress, there’s still work to be done. Together, we can continue to advance the cause for women and girls! 🌍🤝 #GiveToWomenAndGirls #InvestInHer #EveryOrg #HOPELatinas #CloseTheGap #WGIndex2024 #GenderEquality

Our findings indicate that nonprofits eligible to receive zakat funds, but do not engage with Muslim American women, are losing out of valuable financial and volunteer resources for their mission. Check out this article I co-authored with Shariq Siddiqui on Muslim Women Philanthropy. What should I look for next time we conduct this study?

As philanthropy continues to grapple with how best to support and sustain movement work, we want to uplift the wisdom in the Courageous Giving Framework. This progressive philanthropic strategy was created to help donors and funders ensure that they are working in alignment with social justice movements to build a just, multiracial, democracy. The framework is designed to complement progressive funding approaches, such as Trust-Based Philanthropy, social justice philanthropy, and the Justice Funders’ Resonance Framework. https://lnkd.in/eGrKeMmX

#internationalwomensday2024 IWD. 08/03/24 It is important that society take measures to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding. #iwd2024 gives us a day to raise awareness, celebrate women, reflect on the progression made but also campaign for the change still needed. 'Women supporting women' was established in 2018 at the princes trust, to help young women who face disadvantage and adversity to transform their lives. If you are unsure how you can get involved in #iwd2024 visit the website below to learn more about 'Women supporting women' and get involved. A common question on IWD is, which women have inspired you the most? Of course, my daughter, sisters, Nieces, Mum and Nans but if I was to pick one notable public figure it would be Princess Diana. Why? At one point in her life, Princess Diana was supporting over 100 charities. She often utilized the media frenzy surrounding her own personal life to raise awareness and shine a light on a number of progressive humanitarian causes. After her passing, many of these charities suffered a shortfall in funding, showing just how much of a difference, an impact one woman can make. Princess Diana once said, 'Nothing brings me more happiness than to help the most vulnerable people in society. It is a goal and essential part of my life- a kind of destiny. Whoever is in distress can call on me, I will come running, wherever they are'. https://lnkd.in/eA9ZPgRT
