In a recent feature by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, our founder 🌱🌎 Florian Hildebrand shares insights into our mission to combat climate change with green tech. 🌍 Our first pilot facility in Essen, which captures atmospheric CO2 and simultaneously produces H2, represents a significant step towards highly efficient and cost-effective carbon capture solutions. With our approach that combines direct air capture with electrolysis, we are able to capture 100 tons of CO2 annually – the equivalent of what 10,000 trees would absorb. 🌳 The article further explores how Greenlyte, like many other German deep-tech startups, is leveraging the country’s industrial heritage. Florian noted that while AI and digitalization dominate global tech conversations, Germany’s strengths lie in climate tech innovations like Greenlyte. Great application of AI to power sustainability

What should the #theory of #change for #mining be in the context of #climate #change, #biodiversity #loss, #pollution #prevention but as importantly, on the #social #challenges it poses, not only for new developments, but also for legacy sites and their tailings? I'm so priviledged to be able to discuss this with those who have been at the forefront of thinking about what investors can do about it (Adam Matthews), how regulators can set the playing field (Sergio Henrique Collaço de Carvalho), how civil society can engage (Julia Naime) and how data can enable the ecosytem that can enforce better outcomes than we've seen in the past (Lily Dai). Having spent the past four years working on different aspects of what responsibility in mining means, while it is a sector in which it is hard to generalize, there are nuggests of wisdom and principles that are applicable around the world. The news is out! The White House has announced the inaugural NSF Regional Innovation Engines awards to ten regions across the country. These ten places are going to transform what's possible for America by accelerating innovation and advances in critical technologies that will define the future—from in-space manufacturing to batteries suitable for electric aircraft, each of these regions represent a new frontier of America innovation. And it's not just technology, this unprecedented federal action has prioritized creating career pathways and job training opportunities that ensure working families in these communities are able to share in the prosperity these investments will create. Over the coming decade, this will represent an upwards of $2 billion investment that could create tens of thousands of high quality, good paying jobs and attraction billions more in private investment that ensures our nation remains the leader in global research and innovation.
