Karma had one last move for me before I could truly celebrate getting a job. Getting slapped upside the head with being sick. While I’ve been strapped to the couch it’s been amazing to see the commentary on my last post. I’ve had people sending me DMs from across the country and the world asking about my experience, mentioning their struggle, or how my post spoke to them. People in Canada, France, Germany, India, Nigeria, and the UK. People job hunting for 4 months, 6 months, 10 months, a year, even 2 years. People saying they have been following me and enjoy my writing. (Again, I’m no writer. Just an honest point of view.) It made me think about something. If you’re following people and you can relate or appreciate what’s being written then interact with the post. Lots of people are currently looking for a job or trying to network and interacting with posts could be a morale booster for the writer. Even for a moment. It shows there are others experiencing the same thing. The top voices get hundreds of likes, comments, and reposts. The average joe is getting a fraction of those numbers. Interact, promote, make your presence known. A great side conversation could come out of it to network and befriend someone. #jobmarket #network #payitforward #yourenotalone

Every day I take my 15 1/2-year-old dog Juneau for a short walk. Despite the fact that he's dealing with arthritis and hip dysplasia, he lets me know when he wants to go by walking towards the door and standing there, waiting for me to put his leash on. If I decide not to take him at that moment, he whines at me. So, it's become our daily ritual. I figure it's the least I can do for him at his age (our vet says he's about 95 years old in human years!) and while he still wants to be active. At times, Juneau struggles during our walk, sometimes losing his footing. He looks to me for the extra boost he needs to get his legs out from underneath him and regain his balance. During our little stroll in the warm Florida sun today, I made a connection about daily routines such as Juneau's walk and how those in the job search sometimes need a little boost to keep going steady and on the right path. Much like Juneau, job seekers can face uncertainty and struggle. (It can be tough out there!) It's in these moments that some support can make a difference. Whether it's sharing a useful resource, offering to make a connection, or simply listening, we can help each other navigate this challenging path of job searching. If you know someone on the job hunt, reach out and offer your support. You never know how much it might mean to them. Video of Juneau for attention. 😊 #jobseekers #networking #successtogether #supporteachother #randomactsofkindness

This cat barely makes a sound.... The only time she makes a sound is when she wants to eat.... Hence the saying Closed mouths don't get fed. She communicated and opened her meow when it was time to eat. Look at it this way she tries to network with everyone in the house to see who will feed her first. She meows and she acts friendly. She keeps meowing and expresses her desire to eat. Now that's networking because she went to everyone to see who would help her. One of us had to eventually say YES and give her some food. I learned a valuable lesson from this sweet little cat. 1. Closed mouths don't get fed we have to Network 2. Network and find your support 3.Don't give up 4. Communicate 5.Eventually after all the hard work, there will be someone that says YES you are hired! Keep going everyone. The going may get tough, but the tough get going! Your YES will come! #jobseeker #hiringrecruiters #network #support

Ex-Recruiter Sharing Job Search & Career Content🖤 Employer Branding & Internal Communications Professional
I’ve come across many ‘sad’ posts from job seekers this morning. Job searching can take a toll on your mental health and confidence. But this is the time your confidence needs to be high! Please don’t feel shameful and let your job search process define you. Here are some ways to keep your confidence up even during a difficult job searching season: 👉🏼 Reflect on your skills and accomplishments from previous experiences. You've come far, and your capabilities are a testament to your potential. 👉🏼 Embrace Your Self-Worth. Your identity isn't tied to your job status. You are worthy, with or without the job title. 👉🏼 Lean on Faith, not fear. Trust that God is your source, and you cannot call on Him and be put to shame – no way! 👉🏼 Reach out to your network, engage in communities, and talk to trusted people about your feelings. Don't let the job search define you. Instead, let it refine you. Please don’t give up on yourself 🖤

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Let's call my prospect at that time "Mr. Gardener" I started telling Mr. Gardener about my previous clients and case studies I have and then -- he interrupted me. He said things that belittled my work and it made me feel tiny. He planted a 'not good enough' seed inside my head. for months it grew... bigger and bigger each day. Until it became a full-grown plant. and for months I listened to it telling me... "I'm not good enough." It took me a long time to recover from that. Fast forward to today... I'm now obsessed with Social Media MORE. THAN. EVER. It became my driving force... and Here are the Two Lessons I've learned from that experience 👉🏾 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Social media is all about authenticity, right? Turns out, so is life. That disaster interview taught me the power of owning my quirks and imperfections. People relate to real, not perfect. 👉🏾 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 I wanted to forget that awful moment. but now it's here... posted on my feed... forever. Social media loves a good story, especially one with a happy ending. :) I'm grateful for Mr. Gardener. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have worked twice as hard as I do now. This experience helped me face the very essence of my self-doubt... head-on. I did not only find my VOICE again... but also reclaimed my self-worth, Marking a turning point in my professional journey. :) How about you? How did you turn a career hiccup into a stepping stone to a valuable lesson? :) Share below! 👇 #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #discoverycall
