Under this administration, we've made both job creation and engaging our city's youth a top priority here at DCAS. Commissioner Molina had the privilege of giving his thanks to our fleet interns for all their hard work this summer at the CTE Automotive High School Internship Event and Luncheon. The internship program has hosted 470 students since 2015. Many students have become auto service workers, auto mechanics, or other positions within city government. The program provides early hands-on work experience for students, promotes safety and sustainability, and pathways to employment with the city, especially through the auto service worker title. This event is organized and supported by DCAS in cooperation with NYPD, FDNY, DOT, Parks, and DSNY. Root cause analysis (RCA) is one of those skills that I hope to continue practicing and improving on. Feel free to give it a read and let me know your thoughts! #RCA #RootCauseAnalysis

Passionate Career Counselor | Military Transition & Outreach| I help connect a portion of 10,000 transitioning Service Members annually with fantastic opportunities.
Internship opportunities are introduced and discussed as part of TAP's Individualized Initial Counseling sessions and Preseparation briefs. I generally advise that if a transitioning Service Member chooses an internship on the Ft. Cavazos CSP flyer and succeeds in the program, it's the surest thing to employment upon separation/retirement. I then have to add the "get it in writing" caveat when suggesting the SkillBridge site because, before this upcoming change in the SkillBridge MOU, there exists a looming possibility of spending GI Bills on nothing but a "course". These changes could be HUGE, especially where companies must be in business at least 3 years. This should effectively help cut off the heads of the 'fly by night', un-military friendly predators!

Student at Maple Mountain High School | Intern at Utah Valley University for athletic training | CPR Certified | Eagle Scout | Aspiring to become an Athletic Trainer
Some cool skills that I have learned about at my internship is that I have learned how certain things in the training room work and how to operate them to have the athletes use those things to help them recover from there training. Like for instance I learned how to operate the cold tub and the ice bath and how much ice and what to set the temperature of the tubs to for the athletes.
