Dedicated to emerging design, WANTED returns as a centerpiece of ICFF with Look Book, Launch Pad, the Schools Showcase, and the Design Schools Workshop (the latter for the first time at the Javits Center). The WANTED Lounge x Lumens and the Look Book Atelier will be central meeting areas during the show. Look Book is an in-person portfolio for members of the A&D community to connect with high-end North American designers/makers/entrepreneurs and source original designs and beautifully crafted products for their next projects. Presented with media partner Dezeen and supported by Turf, the space will feature 64 participants, up from 48 in 2023, and include the Look Book Workspace, a communal area for meeting and working. Daily activations in The Look Book Atelier will be sponsored by CANOA and programmed by media partner Dezeen. #ICFF #NYCxDESIGN #ContemporaryFurniture #NYCFair #Furnishing #Design #JavitsCenter

DICE is known for its unique character, characterized by its use of strictly quadratic and cubic shapes in its luminaires. These shapes contribute to creating dramatic lighting atmospheres and three-dimensional effects. The design features a square that embraces a circle and a cube that encloses a cylinder. Despite its simplicity, the design is impactful and detailed, showcasing the distinctiveness of the DICE family. Each component of the DICE luminaires can be individually colored. This customization highlights the beauty of the geometric elements that are central to the DICE design. #professionalighting #lightinginspiration #designleadership #lightingtrends #lightinginnovation #lightingbrand #lightingspecialist #prolicht #makesadifference #new #newproduct #matter #projects #configuration #lightingdesign #lightingsolutions #lightingtechnology #lightingfuture #lightingstyle #lightingculture #lightingaesthetics #lightingrevolution #lightingevolution #passion4lighting #dice

🌟 First Impressions Matter 🌟 Came across this chair today, and wow—it really made me pause and think. As someone from Gen Z, who's used to sleek, modern designs, this chair feels like a cool mix of retro vibes with a futuristic twist. What caught my eye was the minimalist yet industrial feel. It’s not just a chair; it’s a design statement. The way it plays with lines and structure is like nothing I’ve seen before. It's almost like it's challenging the traditional idea of what a chair should be. For me, design is about pushing boundaries and creating something that sparks curiosity. This chair does just that—it's functional, but also makes you stop and ask, "Why haven’t I seen something like this before?" Would love to hear your thoughts—how do you see design evolving in our everyday spaces? #GenZDesign #FirstImpressions #FurnitureDesign #Innovation #DesignInspo

Something you should know about @Arches Design Studio we thrive on global collaboration! 🌍✨ Whether it's nuances in language, design standards, or local codes, we pride ourselves on our adaptability. Working seamlessly with US clients, where terms like "Millwork" might be unfamiliar Down Under (or in Aussie lingo), is just one example. No design challenge is too large—our team speaks the language of creativity, transcending borders and standards. Let's transform ideas into reality, no matter where you are! 🚀🎨 And when it comes to measurements, we've got the imperial system down, where a bulkhead becomes a soffit, and a splashback is a backsplash. Cheers to global design with a local touch! 🇦🇺📏 #GlobalDesign #Adaptability #CreativeCollaboration #AussieDesign #ImperialSystem Some interesting US to AU differences in design language, which do you prefer? - Cabinet vs. Cupboard - Faucet vs. Tap - Countertop vs. Benchtop - Closet vs. Robe - Recessed Lighting vs. Downlights - Garbage Disposal vs. These are not that common Down Under - Hardwood vs. Timber By understanding and bridging these language gaps, we ensure smooth communication and impeccable design outcomes across continents. 🌏✏️ #DesignLanguage #CulturalAdaptation #TranscontinentalDesign #InteriorDesign #Revit #Innovation

What influences our design studio when crafting your workplace project? 🤔 Our strategy begins with two key elements: budget and time. These define our design playground, allowing us to innovate within clear boundaries. While many see budget and time as limitations, we view them as opportunities. By thinking laterally and approaching projects from unique perspectives, we streamline the process and enhance the return on investment, particularly with furnishing consultancy. The aesthetics vs. functionality debate in egress design is as old as time. BUT, it doesn't have to be! The key to successfully balancing aesthetics and functionality in egress design is to: 1. Don't sacrifice safety for style. 2. Create a design that prioritises both. Think about it this way: The best-designed egress systems don't just function well, but they also look great doing it. For example, a staircase that combines function with aesthetics can include: - A central landing with a skylight, bringing natural light in. - Clerestory windows. - Custom balustrades that add style without sacrificing safety. These elements can create an eye-catching design that serves a critical function. So, next time you're tasked with designing an egress system, remember: - Safety first. - Functionality second. - And an eye-catching design is always a welcome bonus. #egressdesign #fireengineering

Ever noticed spikes on ledges or benches divided by armrests? These aren’t just design quirks—they're examples of hostile design, meant to keep certain people out of our public spaces. 🛑 As designers, it’s time to rethink this approach. Let’s move beyond exclusion and create spaces that truly welcome everyone. Design with empathy. Design with purpose. Because good design should be for everyone. #DesignForAll #InclusiveDesign #UrbanPlanning #EmpathyInDesign"
