🌟 Earlier this month, we had the privilege of hosting The School of Life to talk about Resilience in the Workplace. Team members across our firm thoroughly enjoyed attending the workshop. Thank you to Maurits Kalff MBPsS for running a very informative session on a crucial topic, centered on helping employees overcome the inevitable challenges and stresses we so often meet in the professional world. Some of our key takeaways include: 1) Resilience is not about “getting over it”. Resilience is about moving forward, accepting loss and change, and embracing mistakes and failures as a chance to develop. 2) Experiencing change and setbacks can be difficult, as resilience is affected by the development of core beliefs early in life. 3) Adopting a new viewpoint is an important part of building resilience, to be able to take a new perspective on difficult events. 4) Developing individual mantras, or phrases, of positivity can help propel us forward. 5) Being conscious of thought patterns and what the body is telling you is an important factor in developing resilience. 6) Keeping a journal in which to voice and reflect on your fears can also help. Thank you to The School of Life for an insightful session. #schooloflife #resilience #workplace #healthandwellbeing #workplacesupport

Comfort zones provide stability, security, and familiarity, allowing individuals to feel at ease and confident in their abilities. This can be beneficial for maintaining a sense of well-being and reducing stress in certain situations. On the other hand, discomfort zones push individuals out of their familiar territory, challenging them to grow, learn, and adapt. Stepping outside of one's comfort zone can lead to personal and professional development, as it encourages resilience, creativity, and innovation. Ultimately, a healthy balance between comfort and discomfort zones is ideal. It's important to know when to lean into the discomfort zone to foster growth and when to retreat to the comfort zone for rejuvenation and stability. #saturdaythoughts #motivationalthoughts

Cultivating resilience in the workplace is essential for navigating challenges effectively. Firstly, fostering a growth mindset is crucial. This involves reframing setbacks as opportunities for learning and growth rather than insurmountable obstacles. Maintaining a strong support network is vital. Building relationships with colleagues and mentors provides emotional support and different perspectives during tough times. Practicing self-care is essential for resilience. This includes prioritizing physical health, managing stress through techniques like mindfulness or exercise, and ensuring a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, developing problem-solving skills and adaptability helps individuals navigate unexpected hurdles with agility. Moreover, setting realistic goals and celebrating achievements, no matter how small, boosts morale and motivation. Finally, maintaining a sense of purpose and perspective can help individuals stay resilient in the face of adversity, reminding them of the bigger picture and their personal values. By incorporating these strategies, individuals can cultivate resilience in the workplace, enabling them to bounce back stronger from challenges and thrive in their professional endeavors. #ResilienceInWork #AdversityToAdvantage #WorkplaceWellness #GrowThroughChallenges #OvercomingObstacles #ThrivingAtWork #ResilientMindset #WorkplaceResilience #EmbraceAdversity #AdaptAndOvercome #ProfessionalGrowth #SuccessThroughResilience #WorkplaceSuccess #ResilienceTraining #WorkplaceDevelopment #StayStrongAtWork #PersistAndThrive #ResilientTeams #BuildingResilience #workplaceempowerment

Too often, in Western culture, we are fed the idea to "just push through" when trying to finish a project, prep for an exam, or complete our very long to-do lists. Is this really the right way to be? Research says, no, it isn't. This HBR article is packed with research studies that say there is a better way. That taking breaks and getting recharged will actually make you more productive in the end. You'll feel better too. So the next time you hit a wall, stop. Rest.
