Congratulations to our Vice President of Health Services, Jennifer Sato, LVN, for joining the board of the American Assisted Living Nurses Association! The AALNA is the only nationally recognized organization that honors and includes as full members, Licensed Practical Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses. In her role with Oakmont, Jen oversees all clinical processes and procedures for Assisted Living and Memory Care. During her four-year tenure with us, she has led the clinical team through the opening of 12 new development communities and the acquisition of 50 more, and she currently oversees the care of more than 8,000 residents. Jen, who has dedicated her life to nursing for the past 15 years, also sits on the California Assisted Living Association’s Education Committee.   In her own words:   “It’s an honor to be part of the amazing nurse leaders across the nation and work alongside them on the board of directors for AALNA. When I started as VP of Health Services for Oakmont more than 2.5 years ago, I made the commitment to our Health Services leaders to create pathways of growth, build a culture around performance and commitment, and give our nurse leaders a voice. Gone are the days of “You’re just a nurse” because we have the collective opportunity to improve processes and standards so we can build an infrastructure that allows nurses to thrive—not just survive. Oakmont operates the largest Assisted Living and Memory Care footprint on the West Coast and the majority of Health Services leaders in our organization (plus many across the U.S.) are LVNs. My position on the AALNA board of directors allows me to bring a new perspective and continue to be an agent of change. We have a responsibility to support nurses who care for residents, families, and team members in all communities across America.”

On Wednesday, Stephanie Limberg, LVN, Executive Director at Ivy Park at Santa Rosa, received the award for Outstanding Executive Director from the California Assisted Living Association! With over 8,000 senior living communities in the state, this prestigious award is only presented to two Executive Directors each year. Stephanie joined our organization in the fall of 2019 and immediately gained the respect and trust of team members and residents. She artfully blends her leadership and nursing skills by ensuring the best care for residents and mentoring those on her team. Stephanie demonstrates an unwavering dedication to the well-being of every resident and team member, and consistently goes above and beyond to exemplify true leadership. When someone asks, “What sets Oakmont apart?”, we answer: our people. Every day, we intentionally hire team members like Stephanie who go out of their way for our residents and each other. We hold steadfast to our values of authenticity, compassion, teamwork, commitment, and resilience, and we accomplish more together by being ourselves, engaging with kindness, and always finding a way.
