Great to be apart of this (I am the afro on the left 😁) Very useful to me in my work at the Office of Sustainability on Thermal Energy Networks.

I wonder how the battery will only have “clean energy”. Will it be directly fed from solar and/or wind farms or will it draw its power for storage from the grid. I also wonder how long the 291 Mwh will power how many homes if and when needed. And how cost effective is this - what does the SA Government/SA Power Networks pay for the ability to draw on this battery and how does that feed into SA’s retail power bills? Effectively SA consumers will have to cover the capital and operational costs of the battery somehow.

The great thing about #ukhousing is that we work together; social housing is leading the way in retrofitting property to meet NetZero commitment and Together Housing is leading the pack in getting this done and, in the process, finding the barriers. What was interesting was that Orbit Group faced the same, but also their own, challenges in the process. By talking about common solutions, the social housing sector can continue to lead the way not only in properties that are great for people today, but also for the planet in the future

I think we should all be working our socks off to create a strong city centre proposition for GB energy in terms of a suitably sustainable and retrofitted piece of architecture to house GB Energy, allowing them to "walk their talk" from day one....or maybe we should amend the scheme at the market to accomodate them in a new carbon neutral offering and make sure that the footfall supports the new units and those already in the centre.... #aberdeen #citycenntre #regeneration #GBenergy #sustainability

This May, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the New York City Industrial Development Agency (NYCIDA) announced the finalization and closing of the East River Energy Storage Project. The battery storage project will be New York’s largest battery storage power plant. The East River Energy Storage Project will consist of a battery storage capacity of 100 megawatts and is projected to be constructed along the East River on an industrial site in Astoria, Queens. The following announcement to proceed with the battery project is the result of the previously revealed New York City’s Green Economy Action Plan. As we push for affordable and energy-efficient homes, we need to ensure that fire risks are minimized, protecting both lives and investments.
