Executive Vice President, Oilfield Services & Equipment at Baker Hughes. Talks about #EnergyTech, #EnergyTransition, #NetZero and #DigitalTransformation
It’s certainly no secret that talented people are at the heart of any successful company – but too often, they’re assigned to a prescriptive career path that can limit their abilities to capitalize on their unique skills and interests. We see things differently within the Oilfield Services & Equipment business at Baker Hughes. We believe that our people should play a big role in developing their respective career s and bringing their own passion, creativity, and commitment to the mix. We want them to take their own paths – and we want to give them strong support from a common corporate framework that includes: · Knowing our company · Living our culture · Performing with impact · Cultivating meaningful relationships · Pursuing lifelong learning Together, our talented employees and our common framework are the foundations of our #RunYourRace program. Last week, the OFSE Talent team spearheaded and hosted a week-long "Run Your Race" campaign to spotlight this 360º approach to talent development – and what a success it was! More than 11,000 team members – about a third of our OFSE employee base – attended online sessions, watch parties, and workshops hosted by more than 100 speakers. Throughout the week, our people interacted with leaders, asked some pointed questions, and contributed their own insights about growing their careers at Baker Hughes. And all of this information is available to our employees now via online sources. Run Your Race is just one of the ways that Baker Hughes is building a team of talented, inventive, and well-trained people who are primed for successful, rewarding careers in energy. A big thank you to our Talent organization, led by Ryan McAllister and Melody Kelleher, CPHR, SPTD, and their teams, and to everyone who made the Run Your Race week so enriching, so informative, and so successful! #WeAreBakerHughes #RunYourRace #EnergizingChange

A dear friend and colleague in India has, with her colleague created this valuable learning opportunity. I wanted to share it with my HR colleagues. EXCELLENCE IN COMPETENCY-BASED TALENT ACQUISITION Watch the video to know more: https://lnkd.in/ghgjQrJQ Competency-based assessment interviews offer a robust and reliable method for evaluating candidates in the recruitment process. By focusing on both technical and soft skills, these interviews provide a comprehensive understanding of a candidate's abilities and potential for success within a specific role. The structured nature of competency-based interviews, coupled with the use of behavioral questions and the STAR (Situation, Task, Action and Result) methodology, enhances the predictive validity of the assessment. When we use this approach we are better positioned to make informed and objective hiring decisions that align with organizational goals and values.

Who knew a single story could change my life? Walking into a #Schlumberger recruitment event 18 years ago, I had no idea I was stepping towards a life-altering moment. The event was lead by Pak Ahmad Yuniarto (AY), a man whose inspirational tale of rising from humble beginnings would forever impact my worldview. Despite his initial struggle with English, Pak AY tenacity led him not just to acceptance into the company, but also an opportunity to hone his language skills in Australia. His tireless dedication eventually placed him as a key figure at Schlumberger. His journey, a testament to the transformative power of unyielding desire, inspired me immensely — and as fate would have it, I was one of 17 chosen out of over 1,000 applicants. This was the start of my journey — a journey in which Pak AY's story continued to be a lighthouse, providing direction and motivation. Years later, an unexpected reunion with Pak AY reinforced the lessons gleaned from his diverse array of experiences. His leadership as CEO that brought a prominent state-owned enterprise to a successful IPO was a vivid illustration of vision and exceptional leadership. Last weekend, I had the chance to meet him again, to learn about the undeniable force that #storytelling holds. It's a powerful tool not only for a leader in guiding an organization towards a shared goal, but also for individuals in shaping their self-image and even in parenting their children. Today, I stand proof that a single story, told nearly two decades ago, continues to guide my career trajectory. It's time for us to realize that our stories have the power to positively influence others. So, what story will you share today that could possibly change someone's life for the better? Great catch-up, Pak AY, Ngurah Beni Setiawan, Tania Sari, Dr. Ovi Wijayanti! *** Don't forget to like, share, and hit that follow button🔔 to stay up-to-date with more tips and insights on #productivity, #strategy, and #leadership.

I had the pleasure of attending the “Recruiter: Spill the Tea Session” with Shazmi Ali Head of HR at Shell ✨🙌🏻 Turns out, with great power comes great responsibility— and only 15-25 grads get into Shell Graduate Programme each year. They’re all about quality over quantity, which is why their turnover rate is just 2%. People there are so happy, it's almost impossible for us outsiders to sneak in—unless we're headhunted 😜 (just kidding!). We also found out what Shell looks for in candidates and got the inside scoop on how Shazmi climbed the corporate ladder from sales to HR (impressive! 🥳👏🏻). Plus, we gained new knowledge about recruitment skills in hiring top quality talents and got to know Shazmi better as a person. It was a fantastic session, packed with knowledge and insights! Huge thanks to Shazmi for spending his time with us and sharing his experience and wisdom with #teamTACIMB. One key takeaway was how interviewers use the CAR method (Capacity, Achievement, and Relationship skills) during the interview process to better understand candidates: ✨1. Capacity: ✨ You'll need to bring intellectual, analytical, and creative ability to learn quickly, identify issues, make judgments, and propose solutions. ✨2. Achievement: ✨ Expect plenty of enthusiasm, resilience, and confidence—be someone who can always get things done. ✨3. Relationship skills: ✨ You should have the character and ability to work effectively with others in a diverse team. All in all, it was an enlightening session that left us with a wealth of new knowledge and a deeper understanding of recruitment and what it takes to succeed at Shell.
