It's good to hear the PM clarification that many road construction companies under the Connect PNG road program are PNG owned. perfect! but there still exist doubts in the capacity of the companies in terms of the companies having the appropriate machines and professionals to do the job. example is, a contractor being awarded a road sealing job when the company lacks professionals and bitumen equipments. How was the contractor capacity screened during the tender stages and contract awarded? Was it a clear example of close tender through the Golden Triangle principle?

Contractor consultation starts on £5bn reservoir building plan Anglian Water Services is starting market engagement with all-tier contractors on its ambitious plan to build two major reservoir projects. #Lagoon in the north west of the Fens #reservoir where water levels will remain steady for leisure use The £5bn Lincolnshire and Fens Reservoir Programme is expected to go out to tender on in January 2027. Anglian said the main works contract procurement and packaging strategy was at an early phase of development and it now aimed to engage interested parties. Under the present plan main works contractors will be responsible for the detailed design and construction of the assets within the project. Anglain said this would require extensive involvement and expertise of Tier 2/3 supply chain specialists, covering all the necessary groundworks, building, #water treatment plant, #MEICA and associated activities. Fens Reservoir Construction to start between 2029-2031 to come into service in 2036. The proposed scheme will be located 30 miles north of Cambridge. At its greatest dimensions it is expected be 2.6km wide and 2.4km long to the embankment toe. Lincolnshire Reservoir Construction to start between 2029-2031 for 2039 delivery The proposed LR scheme location is 30 miles south of Lincoln. The reservoir will be 2.6km wide and 3.2km long to the embankment toe. Maynilad is spending around Php4 billion to upgrade and rehabilitate 22 of its existing pumping stations and reservoirs (PSRs), which operate non-stop to boost water supply and pressure throughout its concession area.   This project will enable Maynilad to sustain the delivery of piped-in water supply at adequate pressure to some four million of its customers in Caloocan, Las Piñas, Manila, Muntinlupa, Quezon City, Parañaque, Pasay, and portions of Cavite province.   Among the major activities to be done on the 22 PSRs include retrofitting to improve structural resiliency, replacing electronic and electrical equipment for enhanced pump operations, increasing reservoir capacity for better water service reliability during maintenance activities and emergencies, and upgrading of the pumps and motors to further boost water pressure.
