🌱 Corporate Social Responsibility in Action: Vistra and Serve the City Partnership. Once again, we joined forces with VISTRA for a community cleanup event that demonstrated the power of collaborative effort in corporate social responsibility. It was a day not only of environmental action but also of team building and community engagement. 👫 Volunteer Engagement: We were thrilled to see diverse groups of volunteers, including families, come together. The event included a fun-filled afternoon with activities like football, making it a truly family-friendly day. 🚯 Environmental Impact: The results speak for themselves - together, we collected 52.9 kg of trash, including almost 3,000 cigarette butts. With diligent sorting, over 75% of this waste will now be recycled, reducing the need for new resources and underscoring our commitment to sustainability. 🌿 Restoration Success: The cleanup not only beautified the local area of Kockelscheur but also restored it to its pristine condition, showcasing what we can achieve when we work together for a common cause. A huge thank you to all the volunteers and organizers. Your dedication to making a difference is inspiring and deeply valued. Today is world environment day so taking a moment to give a shout out to long time partner of Dream and Leap, One Tree Planted. We've worked with this global reforestation partner since Dream and Leap was formed back in 2019. They lead massive reforestation projects in all corners of the world but are also educators too. They work with local communities to ensure that whatever work is undertaken to replant trees is done so in accordance with the local environment its being placed in (aka it will not only survive but thrive), but also equip locals with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain and look after the trees long into the future. World Environment Day is an initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme and is something that gets celebrated across the globe every year on 5th June - it has been since its inception in 1972! It serves as a platform for raising awareness about the environment with this years focus centred on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience to protect and restore ecosystems around the world. Dream and Leap is a proud participant in One Tree Planted's Million Tree Challenge. A program organisations can enlist in that is working towards 1 million trees being planted in an effort to achieve increased reforestation. Beyond that, we have sponsored reforestation projects in the UK, the US, Canada, Denmark, Rwanda, Uganda, The Phillippenes and Australia through this amazing charity.
