Setting new heights of working remotely? 🫣 Maybe 😅⛰️🌴🌳 I can't recall how many years I've wanted to explore Asia. To see another part of the world. 🌏 But having lived abroad for quite a lot of years, I always tended to use most of my time off to go home to visit my family & friends. And that was that. Since starting at Deel, the situation has changed. No more limitations. ❌ I've got time. ⏳ For everything. 💯 To live my best life & to perform my best at work ✅ It might not fit everyone, but there's no arguments on the benefits for many. During this quarter, I've been in Åland Islands 🇦🇽, Spain 🇪🇸, United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 and currently in Indonesia 🇮🇩 (yes, I finally made it to Asia!) - all while ending up at 143% of my targets. 🫡 Of course, it goes without saying - loving what you do and how you can truly change the game for your clients or their employees helps as well. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗱. 👩💻 ➡️ Part-time digital nomad, what does that mean? To me, this means that for about half of the year, I'm away from Estonia, working full-time for Scoro remotely and satisfying my passion for travel. The other half, I'm in Estonia, enjoying a more routine life and spending time with family, friends, and colleagues face-to-face. It's perhaps the best combination of two completely different worlds and lifestyles. This year, my goal was South America. I visited 8 countries on the continent but spent most of my working period in Argentina and Brazil—mainly due to the convenient time difference. It surprises many that the winter time difference between Brazil and Estonia is only 5 hours and with the UK only 3 hours. 🗺️ Travelling and working remotely across time zones has taught me valuable lessons in time management, discipline, focus, and adaptability—far more than my previous years of office work. Although life may seem idyllic from my Instagram and travel blog, there's a significant amount of effort behind it. That's why I'm not fond of the term 'workation,' which suggests vacationing while working. I came to Southeast Asia for a few months to escape Canada’s winter, re-evaluate my work/life balance, and continue remote working with my clients. Sometimes, so far, that has meant midnight phone calls for me. Which I don’t mind, really — Part of being a business owner is, well, doing business and being available when you need to be. And I love being hands-on with my clients and leads. But for the most part… I’ve learned that my at-home style of non-linear work can be directly translated to anywhere in the world. Though it’s been a couple of years since I was last in Asia and most of my clients are in EST and PST, the time zone is no issue for me, and I find myself able to work at the times that have always been the most productive for me: Between 10 - 2 and in the late evenings. A reminder to myself that following this path and leaving 9-5 all those years ago was the right choice..
