With shifting perspectives on gender, clear delineations are becoming increasingly obscure nowadays.

Misogyny & Misandry. Are these words gender specific words of a neutral term 'sexism' or something more filled with hate? For some reason, when googling Misogyny, it implies hatred as a leading descriptor for the word which isn't evident in the opposite term Misandry. Misogynist, a person with hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. Misandrist, a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against men. Sexism is characterised by or showing prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, on the basis of sex. I am constantly seeing references to Misogyny being a contributing or main factor for gender specific violence against women. I find this to be misleading or inadequate if the word does contain the 'hatred' suggested in many definitions on Google. If however, it is indeed, just a gender specific word for sexist, then I find it could be an adequate use of the term. I note the words popularity came after Julia Gillard famous speak, where the words Misogyny and sexism were not used interchangeable but in tantum. (Julia was amazing in this speak, wonder why she didn't survive?) I don't know many communication experts but perhaps William David may be able to provide some context to the correct use of these terms? Any other insights?
