A historic project worth celebrating! Today, we were joined by state and local leaders to commemorate the completion of the Vogtle expansion project. Oglethorpe Power, on behalf of the Georgia electric cooperatives we serve, is a proud co-owner of the project, which generates reliable, around-the-clock, emission-free power for Georgians. In an era where electricity fuels everything, keeping the lights on is vital to Georgia’s economy, and our investment in always-available nuclear energy is crucial in meeting Georgia’s existing and expanding power supply needs. It’s simply amazing that people were declaring the death of nuclear power nearly ten years ago. And now we see Constellation stock price up 400 percent in five years largely due to its nuclear generation. Executive leadership of all the Vogtle owners should be commended for seeing the forest through the trees when the seas were choppy. The SE economy will benefit from this vision for decades to come.
A great executive team that put in endless hours to make this a successful project for Oglethorpe Power and our 38 Member EMC's. Great job David, Heather, Mike, Betsy, Annalisa, Jami and Billy!!
A project, company and executive team all worthy of celebrating! How exciting and rewarding to have worked on this project and with the OPC team to bring reliable, clean, safe and emission-free energy to our EMC’s and their customers throughout Georgia.
Excellent win for all your customers and businesses of Georgia. Great vision

4moThis project was very historic in many ways. It survived many changeouts of contracts. I credit the powers to be in keeping this project alive. I am very proud to say I was apart of this project. I also met many individuals on this job. Nuclear power is the future.
