🌅 Good Morning, Readers! 🌅 As you start your day, here's an exciting update that promises to energize the future of the energy sector and bring new developments to Sarawak! 🚀⚡️ Petronas has achieved a significant milestone with the first gas production from the Jerun field in Sarawak. 🛢️🎉 This marks a crucial step in enhancing Malaysia's natural gas supply and supporting the nation's energy needs. Located offshore Sarawak, the Jerun field is part of the Block SK408 Production Sharing Contract, operated by SapuraOMV Upstream. The first gas production from this field is expected to significantly contribute to Petronas' overall gas production capacity, reinforcing its position as a leading energy provider in the region. 🌊🏗️ This achievement not only boosts the local economy by creating jobs and supporting local industries but also demonstrates Petronas' commitment to sustainable and efficient energy production. The Jerun field's development includes state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure designed to maximize gas recovery while minimizing environmental impact. 🌿🔧 For additional info, natural gas is a cleaner alternative to hydrocarbons like coal and oil, emitting less carbon dioxide and other pollutants when burned. This makes it a key player in the transition to a low-carbon economy, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. 🌍💨 The successful start-up of gas production at Jerun field highlights Petronas' dedication to meeting Malaysia's growing energy demands and its role in the global energy transition. This milestone also underscores the importance of innovative technologies and sustainable practices in driving the future of energy production. 🌐🔋 For more details on this exciting development and its implications for the energy sector, visit the link below. 🌐📖 #GoodMorning #Petronas #JerunField #GasProduction #Sarawak #EnergySector #SustainableEnergy #NaturalGas #CleanEnergy #Innovation #EnvironmentalImpact #LocalEconomy #JobCreation #EnergyTransition #ClimateChange #GreenEnergy #Technology #OffshoreProduction #EnergyNews #FutureOfEnergy #GlobalEnergy #SustainableDevelopment https://lnkd.in/gaP_S_3A)

BIGST Cluster Gas Field Development: BIGST Cluster located offshore Kerteh, Terengganu in Peninsular Malaysia is a gas field development project. PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) and JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation have signed a heads of agreement (HOA) to collaborate in developing a joint proposal for monetizing the gas potential within the Bujang, Inas, Guling, Sepat, and Tujoh (BIGST) fields. The BIGST opportunity was part of the Malaysia Bid Round. PCSB and JX Nippon were shortlisted based on the quality of their submissions and unique value propositions. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology will play a crucial role in monetizing the fields, as they contain a high amount of carbon dioxide (CO2). This project is significant as it will be the first CCS project in Peninsular Malaysia. The development of the BIGST Cluster is expected to enhance Peninsular Malaysia's energy security and lead to the development of other high-contaminant fields that were previously hindered by the lack of complete CO2 handling infrastructure. PCSB and JX Nippon's collaboration aims to work on a business value proposal with PETRONAS and explore possible acquisition of interests in the gas fields.

Indonesia Discovery Alert! Mubadala Energy has struck big again in the South Andaman block with a significant gas find, potentially over 2 Tcf gas-in-place. The Tangkulo-1 well, spudded in March and drilled in 1,200m water depth, hit 80m of gas in Oligocene sandstones, flowing 47 MMcf/d of gas and 1,300 bbl/d of condensate. This marks the third major multi-Tcf discovery in the area, following Harbour Energy’s Timpan (2022) and Mubadala’s Layaran (2023). Commercialization options include expanding PERTAMINA EP Arun LNG, FLNG, and piping gas to local markets. Next up, the rig will appraise the Layaran discovery.
