We held our First Nations Youth Voice Forum recently on Gadigal land and listened to the voices of young people and industry leaders. From lively discussions the group developed the following recommendations to ensure First Nations young people's voices are heard and valued: ➡ Organisations should offer employment opportunities to First Nations young people. ➡ Approach young people in their space to consult and work in ways that are comfortable for them. ➡ Supporting rural and regional youth with access to the opportunities metropolitan young people receive. ➡ Organisations should recognise and compensate young people for their time and knowledge. ➡ Enhance and upskill young people's leadership skills through mentorship and internship opportunities. ➡ Establish meaningful Youth Action groups to ensure diverse voices are represented.
